The golden owl restaurant Burmese fusion cuisine Mom and Pop restaurant very chill. Food tasting Just try the curry tater tots rating 1 to 10 I give it a 3.5 but it comes with a dip sauce it gives it a good taste. Next Im testing the coconut chicken noodle smells good looks delicious. Just tasted the coconut chicken noodles the sauce taste delicious you can taste the coconut the chicken is cooked well also the noodle is also cooked well. The Nangyi Tote (rice noodle) the flavor was very unique in taste makes you feel like you're in barma love the flavor and the lemon and coconut gives it a kick. So this place is quite good for the price you pay I'm always fond of coconut flavor food.

MYANMAR 🇲🇲 Dispatch from La Puente, San Gabriel Valley: Once upon a time I drove out to La Puente to find the Golden Owl, which lives in the middle of a residential neighborhood and is like finding a pot of gold where you are not supposed to. The menu proclaims "Burmese Fusion" but the only thing that seems to be fused with Burmese food is some vegetarian options you might not always see. This is traditional cooking though, and very good. ° When I came here it was late morning but I was still in the mood for breakfast. One item that Burmese people are always eating for their first meal is ohno kaukswe (below), a coconut curry noodle made with chicken. This place specializes in home cooking and this might be your quickest way to experience that. The other noodle dishes on the front page of the menu all look great for a follow-up visit. ° I also could not pass up a bowl of laphet thoke (below), Myanmar's famous fermented tea leaf salad, pound for pound the most tastes and textures in one dish out there. ° There is not much room for many people here, but the dishes are served so fast and the atmosphere so friendly that it almost goes unnoticed. It is as if the owner set up three tables in their own kitchen and welcomed neighbors inside.

Sweet small Burmese restaurant that also caters to the Western palate. They have been able to adapt many Burmese dishes into a vegan version, which is a plus for many. The owner, Shwe and her staff (Nathalie, etc) are always very welcoming. It's possible I am over ordering the nangyi thoke. Lately, it's all I order. I have had the nangyi thoke at various other Burmese restaurants (and in Yangon) but I appreciate their version most. I also really like their mohinga. Come try out their restaurant!

The restaurant is a very small quaint and obviously family owned business. There is only enough seating for about 10 people and when we walked in there were 3 Asians eating there, which was a good sign. We had ordered for carryout so did not get a chance to dine here. I have never had Burmese food but knew it was going to be a hybrid of East Asian and Indian. From the appetizers we ordered the Samosa's which were very yummy. We also ordered the chicken curry and rainbow salad. The chicken curry was tasty but a little greasy. The rainbow salad was AWESOME! It had a variety of noodles, vegetables and the dressing was very light and delicious. The owner was super nice and threw in a garlic noodle with our order. If you haven't tried Burmese food, I definitely recommend and will be back when I am in the area to sample the other dishes.

Very nice wait staff, they had some Positive issues but once I did order the service was kind and the food delicious. I had the vegan rainbow salad, as a new vegan I really appreciated having it pointed out in the menu. Also had the samosas, truly delicious, I liked it much more than the way they make it in a traditional Indian restaurant. 8/10 would eat again

Isn't it nice when you stumble upon a good restaurant while searching for a gas station! That is how I discovered this place. While filling up I caught a whiff of wonderful smells coming from the Owl. This is a Burmese restaurant and a new taste of international for me. Wow, very happy I went in. It is a small place but warm and cozy and their food is full of flavor and originally. I tasted their Coconut Noodle, a curry soup with caramelized onions and other spices, perfect. Also their Garlic Noodles was a pleasant surprise. My wife had their Curry Chicken Plate and was happy with her choice. We will be returning soon. Give it a try.

Fantastic restaurant to try something new, not being acquainted to Burmese food. This is a great start! The services here is very friendly, and the food is a good portion. The only unfortunate thing are the days and hours that they are open, Mon-Sat at 11am to 5pm. But it's not a total bummer. But the most popular dish has to be the Rainbow Salad, it's very refreshing. Also for every item on the menu that contains meat there is an alternative vegan version for the dish. So give this place a try, to have your first Burmese meal experience!
