One star only based on customer service alone. Not only did they get the order completely wrong in their drive through, I called and asked for it to be corrected; which they said was totally fine. Then when my husband goes to pick up the order, they were asking for a receipt or the food back and were not going to give the correct order. They are completely disorganized overall!! They could have done so much better! The rice was also completely cold. Wouldn't recommend due to customer service. Food is decent but there are also so many other places that have better food and customer service!

Eaten here multiple times, food is great. But strike three on forgetting to put my salsas in the drive thru order of 36 bucks. Its like forgetting to put the rice in a beans rice buritto. Your eats and recipe are complimented and paired well with your salsas made. When they are missing some of the taste appreciated is lost or missed.

I have had continual issues at this location in receiving the correct order. Whether we call our order in ahead, order through drive thru, or order in person at the counter, our food is never prepared correctly and is often missing items. We've resorted to not eating at this location and favor other taco shops in the area (there are plenty).

I have either the rolled tacos which are very good because of the veggies, cheese and real guacamole on top. I have had the "pour from a jug" guac and was disappointed. Not the case at Vallarta. It is fresh with very good flavor and consistency. The other menu item is the fish taco. The fish is batter fried to a nice tenderness. Inside is fresh pico sauce and a light sauce that sets the stage for a great meal. Another memorable thought about the fish taco is the size of the tortillas that come with each fish taco as a shell. It's a meal all alone. I then add a side of beans and rice that are delicious. The rice has veggies in it just like my mom used to make when I was a kid and I do today. For me, 1 fish taco with a side of beans and rice is a very satisfying and filling meal with a great flavor and texture.

I've been going to Vallarta in La Mesa ever since they opened. My favorite is the Pollo Quesodia. But all too often the item isn't cooked/warmed long enough to melt the cheese. So when you pick up the tortilla sections the chicken falls out. Maybe they aren't putting much cheese in the tortilla now. I think it's both issues not enough cheese and not warmed long enough. They rush the cooking process because of the usually long drive through line. I visited another Vallarta location and the cheeses was thick and uniformly melted. There is another Mexican style drive through three blocks up toward La Mesa Blvd. and the same item is less expensive and better prepared. Check it out for yourself. I did!
