We have frequented Cucina Basilico during COVID for take out and have been impressed every time. This is some of the best Italian food we have ever had, and the food travels well back to our house. Every dish comes with fresh made pasta and amazing taste; it is as if Grandma cooked it in our own kitchen.

Some of the best pasta around. Its a very simple menu but when you do something simply you have to make it perfect and they absolutely do. The prices have gone up from the menue on their website but otherwise it was as expected. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Some of the best Italian food we have ever had. Fresh, beyond delicious, cooked to perfection. This La Mesa gem should be on every foodies list. Reasonable priced meals that would be $10 more a dish if located in the Gaslamp or other similar locations. Staff & owners treat you like family.

Authentic Italian food at decent prices. This is a small and quaint establishment with good service. The place feels clean and tidy with tasteful decor. My kids really enjoyed their dishes and they can be hard to please. The portions are not overly big, but I was full after eating my dish. I would give it 5 stars, but I did not care for service charge because we had 6 or more in our party. Kinda ridiculous we got charged extra because of our family size, but overall we enjoyed this place.

Small place, HUGE flavor. Fresh made pastas, gnocchi, lots of sauce options, good wine selection. Real Italians running the place. We really enjoyed the food. We had 5 relatives in our party. 1 with allergies, and everyone was happy.
