Absolution by the Sea is a brew forward restaurant tucked like a garage behind the store fronts on La Jolla's Fay Ave. Bigger on the inside, Absolution boasts a plethora of delicious ales. Wines and mixed drinks. I nearly fell in love with the darkened ale concoction with which I started. Lighter

CAVU Brewery hosted our welcome party on 10/25 with about 80 people. Dan, the owner, allowed us to use the whole deck which was awesome and spacious. Decent beer collection. Food isn't bad either. Their Happy Hours have $2 off everything -- which made our Friday Night ! We had 6 beers and some food and the total was $60 -- not bad at all I say. Also, they have parking on-site, which is a huge plus in La Jolla.
We found this place just driving around and we're sure glad we did. The atmosphere was great as well as the friendly service. Food was excellent, fresh seafood, nice presentation as well as plentiful. Beer was great! We will definitely return when we get back to San Diego.
So glad there is finally something like this in La Jolla. We were looking for a brewery/brewpub in the area and found this place. Good selection of beers, great ambiance, outdoor seating and fire pits on the patio. Easy parking. The food is good and they are kid-friendly. Would definitely recommend

Great beer selection, fantastic, garlic fries and an interesting sweet chili sauce in the ribs. Ceaser salad was just ok, and it was pretty loud (tv's on full blast). But we like this place because it's not pretentious and never too crowded for a good place in the heart of La Jolla village.
Absolution is not only an amazing place for dinner but also a friendly social gathering. We have had some great times here! The food is extraordinary, service is great, wine is good, and the atmosphere is inviting.
Came here during work lunch and had the cavu burger. It was one of the juiciest burgers I've had in a while. The wagyu beef patty with the bacon jam was spot on. Very good and very filling. I couldn't finish the side of fries. Also, had the guava beer which paired nicely with the burger.
If you need a place for a group event, CAVU is a great place. I'm the president of the USC Alumni Club of San Diego County and we host a lot of events here including our game viewing parties. Dan and his staff do an amazing job. And the food is top notch.
