Let's talk about the "hand crafted pepperoni flat bread" for a second... Possibly the BEST pizza I've ever had in my life... The explosion of flavors I experienced were just amazing! The beer is good too... But I can't stop thinking about the pizza! 😂💪 Great place and friendly staff. Even the owner, Steve, came by our table to check up on us. Give them a try! But really... That pizza tho 🤣😍

Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Servers were very friendly and helpful. Good selection of house brewed beer and several other local breweries. Had the CAVU hazy IPA and Impossible burger. Both were excellent. Cool, laid back atmosphere with a patio. Games available for chilling with friends and family.

Beer is ok. Service was pretty good. Pepperoni pizza not good. Calamari is unbelievably good. Burgers looked bigger than previous reviews said. I'd like the music to be a little louder, it seemed somewhat boring.

Absolution by the Sea is a brew forward restaurant tucked like a garage behind the store fronts on La Jolla's Fay Ave. Bigger on the inside, Absolution boasts a plethora of delicious ales. Wines and mixed drinks. I nearly fell in love with the darkened ale concoction with which I started. Lighter ales with tender citrus notes followed. A grinning bar tender with emense knowledge of local brews happily served samples of various temptations, providing precise reviews of each. Dinner consisted of fried fish for me and a cheeseburger for my girlfriend. Served on a bed of crispy, lightly seasoned fries my crunchy fish literally dripped when broken. A light, tender whitefish filled with flavor. She devoured her burger and fries with zeal. The Wagu beef was perfectly cooked to mid rare. Certainly a place I'll visit many times. You should too!

Really great and family oriented bar and restaurant. The food outside of the happy hour menu is a little pricy for the amount you get. But the food was tasty!

I hadn't been to this location since 2016 when it was LJ Brewhouse. Very different purposes for me between then and now. In the past I went here for the crowds and the noise at night. This time around I was looking for a cool spot to grab a bite to eat and have a beer with just my cycling group during the day time. We're a small group of 3-4 max these days due to the pandemic. The place still has charm and the open patio was just what we were looking for. Service was spot on, the sliders and fries were tasty, and the beer on tap hit the spot. Really liked the cream ale and then the stout I had. Full pints here. Only thing to look out for is that it gets kind of cold in the winter afternoons due to the patio being on the east side of the building while the building itself is set back westward into the plaza.

We had such a pleasant time here! The patio is great and we felt right at home. Our server was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and we didn't feel rushed. The calamari and chicken wings were good and the steak frites was excellent. When you go, be sure to try the La Jolla Mojito. Great value!

CAVU Brewery hosted our welcome party on 10/25 with about 80 people. Dan, the owner, allowed us to use the whole deck which was awesome and spacious. From start to finish, he was excellent at communication and stepped in as the owner when he needed to. He went above and beyond to create a menu (dinner and apps) that fit our budget and it was served buffet style for special meals for those with allergies or food restrictions. They were busy when we came in, but worked nonstop to get our group served food and drinks. Despite the chaos of our large group, they did everything with a smile on their face and remained professional and flexible. Thank you for everything you did to make our wedding weekend perfect and we will be back next time we are in town!

Decent beer collection. Food isn't bad either. Their Happy Hours have $2 off everything -- which made our Friday Night ! We had 6 beers and some food and the total was $60 -- not bad at all I say. Also, they have parking on-site, which is a huge plus in La Jolla.
