I like their pizza best in La Jolla. But they charge a lot more if you order ingredients separately vs one they have on their menu. Price went from 19.95 for a small veggie one on menu to $36 for a small pizza we swapped off some of the veggies they featured and put on a couple different toppings. Was shocked when the bill came.

Ordered takeout. Portions were kind of small, but value matched the price. The garlic bread was made from toast-like bread, and was a little rubbery like bread gets in the microwave. The lasagna was pretty decent though. Ravioli was fine...a frozen variety, but not too bad. The person on the phone that took the takeout order was efficient.

Been eating at Carino’s for years, ever since I live on 525 Marine St. Always the best pizza, hot, great crust, fresh ingredients that give it its amazing flavor & taste 11/10. Way better then any trash that you us still take & bake. Do it right.. do it Italian & let them do it right & cook it for you! American pizza is garbage.

We were looking for a good pizza joint to visit while on vacation. We stumbled upon Carino’s! The pizza was good and the sauce held some great flavor. I would also like to say that if you go here, order the side meatballs! The meatballs were delicious. My wife and I found ourselves fighting over them because of how moist and flavorful they were. Super good all around.

BEST PIZZA IN TOWN my dad has been coming here for literal decades. Every time my family goes, it always tastes the same: DELICIOUS and so comforting. The cheese and sauce make the perfect combo, and the crust uses this amazing sourdough type of dough that goes great with any topping. The vegetables are always super fresh.
We recommend the Just Plain Cheese pizza, the Gunslinger, and the antipasto salad :)
