My husband and I ate here our first night in La Jolla. I have a food allergy and they made sure that ingredient was not in my food. The food was wonderful and the service was great! I always appreciate great service!
Always hit up Rubio’s when in SoCal!!
I ordered the shrimp bowl. I left off the guacamole because I am not a fan. The bowl was full of spicy shrimp that also had their delicious signature sauce. There was not much lettuce for a “bowl” and some of my rice was crunchy, but it was pretty good.
We've always experienced Rubio's Coastal Grill to be great quality with great service and we weren't let down.
However, it wasn't Tuesday and the prices seemed to be through the roof. Yes, it's been quite a while since we've been here. We walked out, got back in the car and Googled to see what else we could find.
...didn't take long to find out other restaurants in the area were in the the same price range.
The three of us went back into Rubio's with the comfort of knowing the quality and service we'd be receiving.
We shared a quesadilla and had some tortilla chips with some great salsa from the salsa bar. All for less than $17.
Next time we'll be showing up on Tuesday
They're always super fast here, even when they're busy. The food is always good quality. This is a regular stop for us when we're in the area and need a quick bite to eat.
Every time I’m in San Diego I have to eat here. We tried the langostinos tacos and quesadillas so yummy. The sauces and spices they offer are a great addition for the food.
I thought it was amazing. The shrimp tacos had a perfect amount of cheese
This is hands down THE BEST Rubios! The tacos were so much better than the one in Encinitas. So much flavor and fresh tasting!
I come here after the YMCA to eat a few times a month. Anna, who was working the register was so so friendly and just had a smile on her face the whole time even though it was 9:30 and I imagine she was tired.
I hope management or Anna see this because she brought a lot of great energy to the restaurant.
Mexican Seafood
Although this is a chain restaurant, it's a really good option if you want to have a healthy meal with reasonably priced seafood. My husband and I shared the coastal trio - original fish taco (Alaskan Pollock), shrimp taco and wild-caught Mahi Mahi taco and a chipotle orange salad bowl with wild-caught salmon. It was very tasty, fresh and light and we loved the help yourself fresh salsa bar!
Rubio is spanish for "blondy". As the name suggests, it isn't mexican food it's mexican inspired health food. My nutty doctor who won't eat anything including cheese, meat, alcohol, smoothies, coffee, sugar you name it lives off the stuff. Fat old me finds it somewhere between totally edible and pretty darn good, even if not quite as yummy as real mexican food. Atmosphere is totally fast food. Beware the langosta, the cashier said it's not lobster it's really crayfish (false advertising).
Super good must try lobster quesadilla great choice specially staff aka cook name is Peter great service and great cook thanks bro. Keep up the hard work
