I was stuffed 4 bites into my enchiladas suizas. The portion is big!! It was very delicious and the server was quick. I ordered queso which wasn’t the greatest as the consistency was kind of clumpy but the main entree made up for it

Get the carnita! Margarita wasn't so hot But nigra modela on draft makes up for that.
Very pleasant Mexican restaurant and bar that in La Jolla with a nice mix of patrons. The servers are friendly and really hustle. The food is your basic northern Mexico style. Good salsa and nicely flavored enchiladas. Decent margaritas .Classic Eagles, Mellencamp, and Van Morrison on the sound system gave the place a relaxing Southern California vibe. Just a really nice place to hang out.
Place opened. We were one of the first tables seated. Got busy quick and the restaurant was short on staff. Staff was friendly, but food and drink took a little bit of time to arrive. Food was good. Tacos were excellent.
Pets are allowed and it's so near to the ocean you can hear the waves. The food needs heat so ask ahead of time and add to taste. Tea was very good ask for simple syrup extra extra. My party gave 1 5 and 3 4s.
Great neighborhood authentic Mexican joint in north Birdrock. Great food and drinks and the kind of place the locals go to. Friendly, quick service and just a really great laid back vibe inside!
Nice little Mexican restaurant. Good portions, kids shared a quesadilla at the recommendation of the waitress and she was bang on, especially after they demolished the free tortilla chips! $70- Reasonable price for a family of 4 with 2 alcoholic drinks - margarita was lovely but a bit too much salt for me (read about this particular issue on previous reviews) Waitress very apologetic for being short staffed but we didn’t notice and issues and certainly didn’t affect our meal.
Food was more than decent ( I had the carnitas plate ) and the service was outstanding.
Beer was cold and, fortunately, I was there during happy hour accidentally.
Great food, super friendly staff. all of our dinners were fantastic and I don’t see Queso on very many menus around PB & La Jolla. You won’t leave hungry!
Quaint spot in bird rock, highly recommend. We all got the Cadillac pitcher of margaritas which was phenomenal! Carne asada fries were good. Free chips & salsa were legit, which can be a hit or miss at restaurants lol. We all had a blast!
As good of a Tex Mex meal as you’re going to get. Maybe the best restaurant salsa I’ve had, queso blanco, tostada, tamale, rice, beans…. It was all incredible. Shelby was a very friendly and attentive server. Cocktails were very yummy. The food is the real star of the show. I’ll be back every time I’m in San Diego.
Love their margaritas and food! So authentic. Excellent atmosphere and I know I will miss the restaurant.
Only negative comment : hostess was nonchalant and unwelcoming.
