What a hidden Gem! Their food is delicious! I absolutely love their toasted sandwiches the bread they use is perfect! Service is great and orders done on time! The atmosphere could use a little TLC maybe a little more inviting . A pinball machine or pac man game couldn't hurt! I think people would come in for a family dinning experience 🤔 (pizza) (subs) 1 more small thing I sure wish they were open longer hours!

In a town with more Pizza places than anything else, the Pizza Shack does what it needs to to survive it produces a very high quality product that is unique to it's peers in one way or another, and it produces things other than pizza that absolutely deliver for the price, their subs and salads are nigh unbeatable in the L'Anse-Baraga area.
Beyond just the food, the atmosphere is very good, and the decor is very well done. Overall a fantastic eating experience that is just barely off the highway, and centrally located in L'Anse.

Decided to try a pizza place I'd never been to before even though I've lived in the area for a while. I'm giving it four stars overall for the following:
- I was waited on promptly and politely but had to wait over half an hour for my pizza. I've worked in the restaurant industry, specifically the pizza business (and not a national franchise), and it does not take 30+ minutes to make and bake a pizza. It was not a particularly busy night, even for a Friday. To be fair, I was told it would take this long. 3 persons were working, so it did not seem short-staffed. I was also not impressed that two staff members (teenage girls) were eating and drinking in the make area and did not wash their hands afterward. Both are no-nos in the food service industry - health code violations.
- The pizza, which I had ordered for take out, was tasty. I enjoyed it, but for a large, meat lovers pizza, it was somewhat skimpy on the meat compared to other places.
- The establishment was clean, and other than me, the workers, and a few pickups to go, it was pretty quiet. No one was dining in. Maybe folks just don't here. What did catch my attention was how every customer who came to pick up an order, except me and one other, used the one handicapped parking space while inside. That's not a reflection on the establishment but rather the rude and inconsiderate customers. If you need accessible parking, this is not the place for you.
I might consider ordering from this place again.

By Tim: Never in my entire life have I not been able to finish a 12 inch sub! We have been there 3 times now, and I have to except the fact that their ruler is incorrect, the 12 inch sub must be like 16 or 18 inches. For a "Mom & Pop" family restaurant this place is at the top. Pizza & Subs are amazing, price is more than reasonable for the amount of food you are getting.

First, a tip for the owner: it would be really helpful to post your menu here.
Ordered from them for the first time from a referral. Had to go in to get a menu, so we could see our options, went back in and placed our order. The three young gals working at the time, greeted me with smiles and pleasant service despite it it being SO miserably hot inside! There is a couple of tables to sit and eat inside but it's not a full service restaurant. The pizzas are sliced not in triangles but squares. The regular dough is lightly crispy, chewy and thicker, like a regular pizza. It was good, just not our favorite. The chef salad was delicious though! They're average/normal priced.
