Clean, great service. Love the rueben can't get past it and the waffles! Yummy. My waiter and waitress was very fast, well mannered and respectful. Got our order right the first time. I got my rueben sandwich at 10am along with my beef type cup of soup with cappuccino. Hubby got his breakfast with waffle and bloody Mary also. Very busy be the staff were getting it done and were wearing a smile. We got seat as soon as we came in. Very surprising since always busy. Got to made a birthday breakfast for my hubby that he loves and I love. Great food, great staff and employee working there. Very tasty and Clean, ple nty of items to choose from. Prices not too bad. Not alot of parking but still worth the driving around for a spot to get some great food. Non smoking, family type of place and bathrooms are clean

There's a lot of weird horror stories in the reviews here which I just don't understand. The Frog in a Ditch is the tastiest thing ever, all of their sandwiches are fantastic, it's a sit-down restaurant where you can get a latte in Knoxville which is a miracle in and of itself. Maybe a little pricey but I haven't felt swindled or anything. Always been a good experience for me.

We went here last weekend because we were told (by one of the staff members) that they were doing free grilled cheese and soup night for First Friday. We thought it would be appropriate to be patrons of the establishment, so we also ordered two beers, which were on special at $1.50 a bottle (not bad at all). So we were a little shocked when we received our bill (for 2) for a total of $36.05.
Two beers....cheese...two slices of toasted bread...$36.05.
We arrived, and they asked "Will you be having grilled cheese and soup with us tonight?" and sat us down. They gave us a sheet with choices of bread and cheese. No prices listed, save for the aforementioned beer. We gave them our selection, and they promptly brought our beer and sanwiches out. The soup was self-serve.
I understand this is in a location which caters to the well-to-do of Knoxville, but let's be realistic. Paying $40 for cheese on toasted bread is nothing short of price gouging. I'm hoping that perhaps at least a significant portion of this is going to some kind of charity. Maybe someone can verify this??
We will stay home and make our own grilled cheese sandwiches, next time, and save $40.
