Absolutely the best calamari in Knoxville !! I stopped at the Turkey Creek location for the first time on Sunday afternoon and had the calamari appetizer ( which is a meal in its self for one ) and the shrimp and scollops with linguine in the best rich red creamy sauce I've had anywhere , wow it's so good !!
I left there thinking that Gavino's isn't just a place like so many in Knoxville where you just go out to eat , Gavino's is where I'm going when I want a good meal not just something to eat . I've left other places thinking I should have stayed home and cooked , that's not the case at Gavino's .
There are a lot of places to eat in Knoxville that are named after the owner but you don't see the owner preparing meals ,, well yesterday Gavino himself was in the kitchen , that means a lot to me , hands on , that's why this is my new favorite go to place to eat , great food great service , thanks Gavino !!
We go to both locations and sometimes even when not busy seating and service is slow. That's my only complaint but the pizza makes up for it. Being born in Brooklyn I have eaten at some of the best pizza joints around. The Neopolitan (NY style) pizza is hands down the best in Knoxville. But if you really want to try something different order the Grandma's style pizza, it is awesome!! I'm a die hard traditional Neopolitan pizza guy but for something different give it a try!!
Delivery Order. Wanted Fried Ravioli but got Garlic Bread instead, it was delicious but not what we ordered. The Tortellini with Meatballs was also very good.
Food arrived fast and hot. Overall will order again.
This was our first time there. Was concerned due to the mixed reviews but we had a Lifestyle card so thought we’d give it a shot. Ordered a Sicilian pizza and a Calzone. Pizza HUGE and VERY good. Just packed up the calzone. Dinner tomorrow I think. Our server was Hillary. Excellent!!! Friendly, attentive. Just what you’d hope for. Dinner took about 20-25 minutes to come to table. What you’d expect. No disappointment tonight. Will return. Probably with more people next time.
