The dishes were super yummy, and we loved the atmosphere with the traditional Japanese sitting. Excited to go back. We may have snacked on a few sushi pieces before I remembered to snap a picture đ

Wonderful authentic Japanese food. I've gotten something different every time and never been disappointed. The Kirin Ichiban draft beer is my favorite of all time.

We found this restaurant as it looked reasonably rated for the area, and we really wanted sushi. It was located in an assuming strip plaza with other stores.
Upon entering, the feel was welcoming with it's wooded paneling. It took a little bit of time to be seated. But, we landed one of those tables that looked like a traditional floor table, but was really an open booth.
I think the place was under-staffed as I only saw two servers running around. Slow was the theme for the evening from drinks to getting our food. Although it took nearly an hour to get our food, the sushi and rolls were decent. The food was actually delivered by the chef, whom I suspect was the owner.
I think it's a good spot for sushi, but you'll want to get there early around meal times until they staff up more.

Best sushi place I have ever been to in my whole life. I didn't really care for sushi that much before coming here. I would still go to all kinds of different sushi places because my friends/family really like sushi so I always kept on trying new places. The chef of East Japanese Restaurant made me fall in love with sushi and Japanese cuisine in general. I have tried so many different things that I would have probably never tried in any other restaurants because I just trust them to give me the best experience Japanese cuisine can offer. If ever in doubt about whether or not you want to try a Japanese dish.. I recommend you to give this place a try. I have great admiration for the cooks and I can tell how passionate and serious they are to give costumers the best quality and delicious food they can possibly make.

The sushi was good. Pay attention to the menu for gluten free people. The atmosphere was great. Just expect the service to be slower until they get more servers. The one we had was rushing his butt off and did a good job.

Not just a meal, it is an experience.
You may live in Farragut and not know about this culinary delight. My husband and I always said that the one thing Knoxville is missing is a true sushi restaurant, well no longer. With one server and one chef patience is a virtue that comes with great reward, so make sure you have enough time for this incredible experience. The space has Japanese style seating along with booths.

Service was extremely weird when we came for lunch recently; even though the restaurant was virtually empty, it took a long time to be seated. About to leave when the gentleman came to us.
The Japanese food was average; perhaps by our local Knoxville standards, it's good (international food variety/quality is limited here to be honest), but there are nicer places for a good meal in West Knoxville.
Some of the furniture did remind me of trip I took to Japan, but the food did not.
Worth checking out if you're in the area and hungry but not a place to get too excited about.

The energy of the place was perfect. We went here for my sisterâs birthday and we were not disappointed. Although a little understaffed, the service was good especially with only one or two waiters waiting on the entire restaurant. Expect service to be a little slow because of the lack of wait staff, but the food is worth it when it arrives.
Our waiter was amazing and seemed to be dealing with the entire restaurant. Definitely would go back.
