Review Sergeant Pepperoni's Pizzeria - Knoxville

Scott Van de Motter
Surprisingly very good pizza and excellent service. We stopped here on a road trip to GA for winter break. There was a guy working who was very nice and I wish I knew his name so I could give him a shout out. He was very nice on the phone and he hooked us up with plates and silverware. We got a cheese pizza, a Mediterranean pizza, a calzone and a Greek salad. Everything was excellent. We have high standards regarding pizza since we're from the Chicago area, so we know pizza. The calzone was big and very good. Highly recommend checking it out, well worth it IMO.

Not bad but would only give pizza 5.4 not alot of taste give 4 stars the guy serving did outstanding job.
David King
This is my favorite pizza place in Knoxville. Their pizza has been good since they opened. Have been getting pizza there for at least 6 years and have never had a bad experience.
Charles Brown
If I could leave less than one star I would. After they forgot to enter our pizza order we were left only eating our salad. They offered to “make our pizza” but as we were going to a show and didn’t have time I declined. My bill was $18 and change, when I checked my bank this morning I was charged $22 and change. I left no tip, so I guess they gave them selves a tip. Beware.

Went here for fathers day because I like to try new places and pizza. We had to wait 30 minutes to get our wing appetizer and noticed it was only 5 wings instead of the 8 shown on menu. We were given the covid as the reason there were less wngs?? Pizza came back slightly burnt and with a vegetable that wasnt shown on the menu for what we ordered. Maybe a one time thing but first impressions..

Go here. We are always happy with this neighborhood pizza restaurant. Cozy, casual, comfortable, and friendly. They will make you any kind of pizza. In my opinion, tied for best pizza in Knoxville.
Amin Mohamadi
A very tasty pizza. The staffs are really nice, especially the lady behind the counter (Lydia). If you do not like soggy or semi-soggy crest, just let them know. I wish they could stay open a little bit longer in the weekdays (or at least Tuesday when they have half-price 14").
Bob Dobbins
Consistently great food. Subs, pizzas, and calzones freshly made to order. Good service.
Sara Rosie Ruther
If y'all have not had the cheesy focaccia sticks at Sergeant Pepperoni's, you are missing out. They have a killer selection of beers on tap, amazing crust and an excellent gluten free option too. Great salads and sandwiches. Pizza by the slice for lunch. And if you love beer with your pizza, all pints are just $2 all day on Saturdays. Knoxville's best kept secret. They have a Bearden and a Cedar Bluff location, and they deliver! <3

Their crust was amazing. Loved the atmosphere and the calzones. The bread pudding was fantastic too. Highly recommend to everyone- You won’t be sorry you came here.

My husband took me about a year ago. My now fav pizza place and always recommend it. My co workers now go there.
Beth Osborne Piper
Sergeant Pepperoni's has quickly become our favorite pizza place after only 2 visits (once to Cedar Bluff and once to Bearden). It is so good! And it is affordable, which makes it possible for us to order a cheese pizza for the kids and a separate pizza for ourselves.
Walter Reynolds
Went by with a friend for some pizza and beer yesterday. Sat at the bar for over twenty minutes and never even got spoken to. Some guy was running around on his cell phone and never even gave us a glance. I live in the neighborhood and I will not be back.
Aaron Cradduck
Hands down the best pizza and calzones! You’ve got to try the bread pudding as well.

While traveling, we met family at their favorite pizzeria, and we agree it's great! Pizza was awesome, service was fast, staff was incredible (even made me a glass of unsweetened tea). Will definitely stop again on our travels!😋
Penny Wood Rose
Clean, affordable, fast and courteous service, most variety on a pizza menu I've ever seen, and the food was phenomenal! Definitely a new regular for me.
Chris Twarowski
First time here. Beer was great, pizza super good, and staff was amazing. We will be going back for sure.
Gregg Pruitt
Good service, good food. An all-around step above the pizza chains and run of the mill sandwich shops.
Debi Denison
Greeted at the door by a friendly server who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. We got a loaded 16" and a pitcher of craft brew and it was just what we needed after an exhausting camping trip. Very reasonable pricing and the pizza was excellent!
Tim Conklin
Best pizza in town, good beers in tap, all around solid place for dine in or take out. Love it!
Dwayne Gresham
Excellent pizza etc. Cold beer on tap and a flat screen TV.
Vivian Laska
This by FAR the best pizza in Knoxville hands down. The Ally Pie is phenomenal and everyone who works there makes you feel at home.
April Cooper
Friendly and fast service. The pizza is amazing!!
Tony Gibney
Best pizza place in town! I order online normally and on a drunken night wrote in the special delivery instructions to draw a Bigfoot inside the box. Their pizza artists draw a new one each time I order now. Love them so much!
Melissa McCoy
We were looking for a nice dine-in pizza place. It's very comfortable and the pizza is AMAZING! So fresh!!! We will definitely be here again!
Kenny Fleshman
We were at the Holiday Inn and ordered delivery - artichoke dip, Mediterranean salad & deluxe pizza. They forgot the plates & utensils but our delivery dude went to the lobby & got us some. Food was excellent. The artichoke dip is insane. Good food, fair prices, slight hiccup but still highly recommended.

Overrated pizza. Not horrible pizza at all, but the service was so horrible that I walked out. The Bearden location is much better. They greet you with a smile. The quality of the pizza is okay but there are places that are better. hey load you with cheese, the sauce is mediocre, and the crust is not great. You can go to many places here in Knoxville to get better pizza and respectful service.
Raquel De Bastiani
This is the spot to go get pizza in Knoxville, the Pop-Eye is my favorite so far, not to mention their crust is toasted and cheesy. The service is great.
Steven Summers
Nice pie. We shared an Italian sandwich which was very good. I must say the bread was a stand out here very fresh and all around good flavor. A few to many peppers for my taste a little over powering but a great great sandwich. We also had a small Hawaiian pizza. Crust was a little chewy but the balance of flavors relaxed away all my cares. I was a little set back when I saw the amount of grease in the bottom of the box . But hey something had to melt this tasty pie to its sweet enrichment of my soul. Will definitely give some more menu items a chance. And my girlfriend added she loved the BBQ chips as well freaky good she says.

Moved to Knoxville and couldn't find a good pizza until we found Sgt. Peps. Excellent pizza. Cooked properly with fresh ingredients. Friendly staff. Nothing fancy, just great pizza!

Mrs Rita Karnes. We've enjoyed bringing many international friends here the past couple years...we've NEVER been disappointed! I have celiac and their gluten free pizza so far exceeds any other in Knoxville! They are very knowledgeable re: the necessary precautions to prevent gluten exposure. Max is our favorite waiter & has always been excellent! Thanks Sgt. Pepp's...and Max!
Jan Allen
We finally made it to Sergeant's and we were not disappointed!! We ate at the bar with a pitcher of $5 Bud Light and NFL football on the tv. We ordered the Meaty and it was hands down the best pizza we've had in a long time! Ingredients were top notch, sauce was just enough, not over powering, cheese just right but what made it was the hand tossed pan crust. It had just the right crisp and thickness to it! Service from Max was top notch! He was personable and effecient! We will definitely be back!
Seth George
I've eaten their pizza several times and always enjoyed it. Tonight my wife and I tried some sandwiches, they we're even better! I highly recommend The Popeye and the Meatball sub!!!
Shannon Rash
I love pizza and Sergeant Pepperonis is by far the best pizza I've ever had. Love the crust, sauce, and cheese.
Macy McNabb
What's up with all the bad reviews??. Sgt. Pepp's is one of the best local pizzerias! I've had nothing but great, prompt service on my numerous visits. I've even had it for carry out several times and was never placed on a hold. Must try pizza for Knoxvillians!
MamaBean
We'd heard raves about this place. A cute atmosphere and nice enough staff. Very slow service for a Sunday afternoon meal with only two other small tables of patrons in the joint. We had a pizza and breadsticks; neither were memorable. Overall, nothing to write home about and with other more enjoyable pizza joints around, I won't be returning to Sgt. Pepperoni's.

I finally ate here for the first time and was excited to try their pizza. Unfortunately the first experience was not the best. I picked up a Mediterranean to go and didn't look at the pizza right away. When I opened up the box to grab a slice it was burned! The tomatoes, feta, and spinach were all blackened and had to take some of them off. The crust also had some charred spots too. The pizza was just ok on taste but I did like the crust when I ate around the burned spots. Can't say I would choose this place over other tasty restaurants like Mellow Mushroom in the future.

Very unhappy. I am a very frequent "delivery" customer. I ordered our usual tonight a young employee answered the phone. Midway through my order, I had to ask her the questions she would normally ask me, a male came on and took control. I was promised my order within 30 minutes and within 1.30 hrs I called and was to.d that they thought is was for pick up! By this time it was 9:00 and too late to eat.
Not one apologie not I'm sorry. I wll never call them again. Not the first time this has happened!!!!
Jessica King
Food was great, service was great! Just wish they had a little more space and tables.
Steve J
I love this place. Try the cherry chicken salad sandwich. Fantastic!!! You won't be sorry. Great pizza too.
Timmy
Best pizza in Bearden, hands down. If I eat anywhere else, this is my gold standard.
Matthew R. McDougall
Calzone of Calzones.. I will preface by saying that I am not a connoisseur of calzones. I have, however, had many around town. While I could rank them, I don't think that would serve this review well. I have had better record times eating calzones out of necessity, and I generally like to take my time and enjoy them, but that meaty calzone compelled me to devour it in 12 minutes flat. It was gone before I realized it. Next time I will exercise control and attempt to savor every moment. Key words there being "next" and "time", because I will be back.

As far as the other stuff people want to read in a review... I just went in to pick up my carry-out order, didn't stay and chat or anything. Within that, friendly service. The place was clean, but since I wasn't there long I didn't look at much.

Bravo!
Brad Kirkham
My wife and I love this place the pizza is incredible and service is great.
Jen Thompson
My friend and I visited tonight and we loved it! We split a small Pop-eye's, and it was great. I could have easily eaten the whole thing myself! The service was also really good. We will definitely be back.

I can't comment on the food, they did however waste ten minutes of my life by leaving me on hold, all the while I could hear them serving multiple customers with breaks in between while I waited. Absolutely non plussed. Maybe try this place for dine in but I wouldn't bother calling for delivery.
Cat
Buffalo Chicken Pizza had some kind of strange curd like pizza, may be cottage cheese? Strange. My husband hated it,

I'm hooked!!!. I actually went to the Bearden area to visit a pizza place I've heard much about, just down the rd., but they didn't open for another hour and half. I went to Sergeant Pepperonis instead, and let me tell you I don't regret it!!! I consider myself a pizza expert, and am trying to visit all the pizza places in East Tn. I hear good things about! I'm having a problem rightnow getting to some of the places I've not been to, cause 4 days after my 1st visit, I've been back to SP 2 more times. It's amazing! Crust is on point! the cheese, pepperonis, veg, sauce all great! And the cinn rolls mummmm! I like mine cooked well done, and the pizza has been perfect all three times I've been! It's a 50 mile drive from my home, and I can't wait to go again tomorrow! Big Eds, Little joes, Pizza Kitchen, Barleys all good, but if you love pizza, do urself a favor and visit these guys!!!

Excellent Pizza. We usually travel to the Rocky Hill area of town for pizza, but decided to try Sergeant Pepperoni's as it is closer to the house. Very happy we did. Ordered the deluxe pizza and it was delicious. Loaded with toppings clear to the edge of the crust (which we really like) and very tasty. Job well done!

The Sgt's Soggy Bottoms. I've been hearing a lot about this place and so I decided to order some take-out for a late lunch yesterday. The calzones were very fairly priced at $6 so I went with the supreme(minus onion, add garlic) and my girlfriend made her own calzone with pepperoni and garlic($6.50). They said it would be ready in 15 minutes and it was ready to go when she arrived. The crust and ingredients were very fresh and good. My only complaint with it all is the botton of the calzones was soaked and mushy from a solid layer of grease and drippings in the bottom of the styrofoam box. I still ate every bit of it but I would have enjoyed it much more had it not been soggy. Next time I'll have to try the dine-in experience.

Do yourself a favor. I was a little nervous when I enter the pizzeria and was the only person there (~4:30ish). SPs was recommended to me by a friend, so I thought I would give it a try. I ordered the Popeye pizza, and it was amazing. I try not to over eat, and only do so when the food is too good to stop. I overate this time, and it was glorious.

This pizza is ok at best. There was nothing to make me come back again. The burned cheese crust is no favorite of mine. Sorry guys, coming from NY and Ohio i will have to try elsewhere. I will say that the service was great and my wife had a meatball sammie and that was not bad.
Alex Hatfield
This place is a 3/10. It's decent. My pizza came out wet and soupy. No way I could pick it up. The edges we charred. My buddy's was burnt to a crisp to the point the ingredients were like paper. Taste was okay service was a little slow. There are def better places for pizza in Knoxville.

I LOVE PIZZA. So I've searched all over Knoxville looking for good pizza. Of course some are better than others, but there are two that take the 'pie'. For a while I was absolutely addicted to HardKnox Pizzeria in the West Hills shopping plaza; great wood-fired crust with the fresh, premium ingredients. They make a GREAT Sicilian-style pizza. Then Sergeant Pepperoni's opened across the street. The AWESOME buttery, doughy, crispy deep dish style that they make from scratch is absolutely delicious! Not to take any glory away from HardKnox, it ROX!, but now every time I'm thinking pizza, Sergeant Pepperoni's is the first thing on my mind. It's all about the crust when it comes to pizza, and though both have an amazing crust and I love them both, but I'll go ahead and say Sergeant Pepperoni's is my favorite of the two. And, to "top it off", Sergeant Pepperoni's gives you more pizza for your buck! Their $10/10" is enough to feed me twice! Try the Meaty, Salty Supreme, or Popeye's and I guarantee you, you'll never order Poppa John's again...

Awesome pizza, try the alley pie. Cinnamon rolls are pretty awesome also. A few good microbrews on tap.

One word. Calzone

Addictive Pizza and Yummy Combinations. I don't know what it is about their pizza, but it is addictive. Amazing fresh toppings, ingenious but classic combinations and, key to all great pizza--amazing crust AND perfect sauce (sauce is the HARDEST thing for a pizza place to get right). The greek pizza is really good, as is the Ally, but I tend to play around with different topping combinations depending on my mood.

Salads and sandwiches are good, but definitely go for the pizza. Also, the prices are really good, IMO, for such great quality. The smaller personal sized pizzas are great for people who cannot agree on toppings.

I would LOVE to try their desserts but am always too full--bread pudding and assorted crisps with vanilla icecream.

The service is friendly and cheerful and the atmosphere is very pleasant, if not really remarkable in any way--but sometimes you just want that. Clean, well lit but NOT too bright, cheerful with yummy food.

Addicted to this place!. I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. I don't like this pizza...I love this pizza and this place. The owners and the staff are awesome. They are always friendly and they work their tails off, in fact, we go about once a week and they are always there. I don't think they ever have a day off!
The pizza is amazing. I am a traditionalist and normally just get a standard sausage, mushroom and onion pizza and I think it is the best in town. But, I had a wild hair one night and got the Mediterranean and OMG it is to die for!!! Sundried tomatoes, feta, and spinach with some kind of spice marinade mixed in. I literally have had dreams about this pizza. They have a way of spilling the cheese over the edge of the crust and it bakes to the side - it is so good. I really, really want to try some of their sandwiches (the cherry chicken salad sounds great) but the pizza is so good I can't seem to try anything different. Sometime we are going to have to try to go for lunch just to try something else.

The Popeye Pizza w/ feta is awesome. Great sauce, great crust. Definately one of the best in Ktown.
Stacy
Yummy. I had the Greek pizza and really enjoyed it. The crust was crisp and flavorful, and the toping was a nice combination of flavors. It would be nice if they used calamata olives since it's a Greek pizza, but it's nothing to fuss about. The service was good, the atmosphere was relaxed.

Salute the Sergeant. A buddy & I tried out Sergeant Pepperoni's one afternoon. The place was quiet with only one other customer. We were greeted by a nice guy who made some recommendations. I got the Popeye Pizza and my friend the Ally. Since that day we have had to visit them at least once a week. I keep telling all my friends that they have to try it and everyone that visits agrees. The food is great, prices are good, the guys that work it really care about making a good impression.
Do yourself a favor, try them out. I guarantee that no matter what you try on the menu from pizzas, salads, or sammies, you'll love it.

Seargeant pepperonis pizzeria. We know the owners and we know there recipes and everything is fresh fresh! the pizza you ever had in tenn. and the best in michigan! also the best cinnamom rolls you ever had! i know it my grandmothers recipe!
Wells
Great local pizza. Very good pizza, tasty crust, definitely one of the best in Knoxville. The only pizza I have had that is better in Knoxville is Gradma's Pizza at Dazzo's. Also, excellent sandwiches (they bake all of their own bread), and the homemade cinnamon rolls are a hidden gem. We have received good service so far!
Dessi
Literally the best. Best pizza on Knoxville. Only downside is the prices; but if you want the best pizza it is totally worth it!! The 3 owners are awesome too!
Jenna
Yes!. Great pizza right next to my house. I've gotten takeout twice so far, and it's been consistently great. The crust is really done right, and if you have leftovers it REALLY holds up well heated up in the oven the next day. That's usually pretty rare, so way to go, guys.
HeyHeyHey
It's good. So, this new restaurant already has four reviews that say it is great. Three of those four reviews proclaim it is the best pizza in Knoxville, and it happens that three reviews come from new users with only one review each. Now, far be it from me to accuse anyone of shenanigans, but I think we can all agree that it is a bit odd. So where can you go for a review that you can trust? Well, I decided to take one for the team and try it out myself. I was hoping to come back with a smart-assed review that busted those earlier reviews back, but instead I found that Sergeant Pepperoni's is legit.

Now is it the "best pizza in Knoxville®"? No, it is not, but it is close to it. (Meaning that Hard Knox is just down the street, haha.) All joking aside, they do make a very good pie at Sgt. Pepperoni's. The crust was kind of buttery, and the cheese, sauce, and toppings were all good. The pizza prices were in line with what they should be. The setup inside is good: bar, tables, television. The staff seemed like a bunch of likable dudes who were working hard. They definitely were working with some garlic back there. There were eyes watering throughout the establishment. That could've been due to the recent loss to Florida, though.

TL;DR: Good pizza at a decent price with good service. A worthy dining option. Go check them out.
Yocococat
Best Pizza. We went here last Friday and it was the best pizza we have had in Knoxville. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We will be back! If you haven't tried it you should.

Best Pizza I Have Ever Had. Sergeant Pepperoni's is not just a pizza place.. it is an experience. They offer the highest quality pizza in not only the Knoxville area, but anywhere.

Not only is their pizza out of this world delicious, they also offer a great selection of draft and bottle beer. They show NFL and NCAA football games so be sure to drop by to catch your Tennessee Volunteers playing on game day!

I would highly recommend Sergeant Pepperoni's Pizzeria to anyone in the Knoxville area looking for the ABSOLUTE BEST pizza around.
Steve
Incredible everything. We've now been to sergeant pepperoni 3 times and they've only been open a week. We initially came in to try the pizza and were blown away by their mediterranean salad. Nothing like it in town... Then we tried the greek pizza and were hooked forever. The 3 owners are great and want to make your experience a fabulous one. you gotta try this place !!!
Ashnicmc
Best pizza in Knoxville!. Sergeant Pepperoni's has by far the best pizza in Knoxville! Try the popeye and add feta. The sauce is absolutely amazing, and the prices are great. The cinammon rolls are also fantastic. So glad to have a great new restaurant in Knoxville.
Mike Stanley
Sergeant Pepperoni’s is new to us, and I believe it may still be within its first year here in Knoxville. If you like pizza, sandwiches, or home-made desserts, you owe it to yourself to give this place a try. I know you’ll love the food, and you’ll find the staff friendly and happy to be around as well.
