I lived in Texas, where you can find authentic Mexican restaurants. I have been to Porta Vallarta, Cozumel and Cancun Mexico, I can tell you that Amigos Cantina is outstanding Mexican food and is the real deal. Mexican Specialties such as their Cilantro Lime Shrimp to their Trevino's Special Carnitas. I live in Florida now, but every time my family travels through St. Louis, this is a must go to spot. 5 Stars for me Amigos!
Amazing drinks, better food, overall great dining. Perfect for a girls night, birthday, or even happy hour. Reasonably priced, too!
This place is a must try! Initially arriving we had to wait about 5 minutes to be greeted by a hostess. The margaritas while not able to be served pitcher style like most Mexican restaurants was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and strong worth the price. The server suggested the 3amigos and I ate everything on the plate. The server was quick and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was well seasoned, fresh and hot when it arrived to the table. The side of beans, rice, pico and guacamole were very nice added touches. I’m already excited about next months outing we will be back!
We visited for St. Louis Taco Week! The tacos were delicious. I added rice and beans. And the Margarita was delicious!
Friendly Kirkwood cantina with great margaritas. Seasonal specials like cranberry margaritas were also tasty!
Would definitely recommend. I hope they expand to the city!
We got the queso to start which was not great. Kind of tastes like a gravy. Very thick and has pepper in it? Not a fan personally, but that’s just us.
I got the fajita quesadilla with no veggies inside. The order came out perfectly no problems and was so good!
My husband got the meat lovers tacos and said they were pretty good. The steak was his favorite.
The waitress was very nice and attentive.

Everything we had at our table was good but none was great. If we lived closer we would go back again but it is about half hour drive and there are so many options between here and there. We had the Guac appetizer and it did not taste all that fresh. It tasted like it was scooped out of a large batch probably made the night before. Again, Everything was good but not a stand out in our minds!
1) Very clean restaurant 2) OUTSTANDING service 3) the food was sooo good that we went two days in a row 4)the mango smoothie is FANTASTIC.I highly recommend Amigos Cantina for the aforementioned reasons. The pictures are from both days. We went once on a Friday for lunch and the next day for dinner. I had the steak fajitas both times. My hubby had the 3 amigos fajitas the first time and something seafood the second time. We are in love with Amigos Cantina.. If you like spicy salsa, ask for their habenero salsa- mix it with the salsa they initially provide and you will be so very delighted with the flavors.
The baked nachos are excellent! They have each chip ready to eat, no scooping. We were here for taco wk. The taco wk tacos were dry unfortunately but it's hard to keep that consistent.
We waited at the bar for a table and had great margaritas and spent a delightful few minutes with Angelo! The food was good and more than we could eat. The sound was a little loud in the bar area but better at the table. We will definitely be back!!!
The menu is standard Mex but tasty, and I like the ambiance. Pretty fiesta-ish. The service is solid, and prices are right in line. The back patio is great in the Spring and Fall!
