Taiwan Family Restaurant

A hole in the wall kind of place. We were on our way to SPI and kids were hungry. We stopped and ordered 3 dishes. The house noodles was really delicious! Shrimp and broccoli was yummy. Husband wasn’t sure about the general tsar’s chicken but it was not bad either. The older lady was very nice and helpful. The inside was a bit warm to dine in but plenty of fans to keep the air circulating. Highly recommend overall. Good food and nice portion. Friendly and fast service.

When I entered the restaurant, two friendly individuals greeted me, who I assumed were the owners. I planned to dine in, but they suggested I order to go because it was hot in the restaurant due to air conditioning issues. It was hot, so I decided to take their advice. My order was taken quickly, and the menu was briefly explained to me. I ordered the General Tao's chicken which came with either fried rice or steamed rice and an egg roll or crab rangoon. I opted for the fried rice and egg roll. The total was close to $10.00, which is a pretty good value for what you get. While I waited, one of the owners offered me complimentary cold water. The General Tao's chicken was sweet and slightly spicy. I noticed that the quality of the chicken was better than some of the other Asian restaurants I have eaten at in the past. The chicken was tender instead of mushy. The sauce on the chicken did make it a little softer than I like, but that can be resolved by ordering the sauce on the side. The fried rice and egg roll were nothing special, but they were good. Taiwan Family Restaurant, in my opinion, is the best Asian restaurant in Kingsville and deserves more attention. I rate the food an 8/10, but the service was a 10/10. As a result, I believe TFR deserves 5/5 stars.

Owner was very nice and funny. He mentioned he was going to close for good. I was disappointed because I finally found a good place that make good Taiwanese food in Kingsville. It was a pleasure to meet the owner. He said that the A&M students would call to place orders and not pick it up. Thus causing to lose money. It's ashamed that those kids would do that to these people. Hopefully he changes his mind as I enjoyed his cooking.

I got a egg roll and in my opinion it was so good,the orange chicken is amazing the chicken is freshly made and it’s crispy, and it has this actual orange taste,the rice was good,and I got potstickers and they were so good. The only thing I didn’t like was that I had to eat outside, but the food was really yummy
