Island Sushi

First time back since pandemic. The variety and quality didn't seem as high as previous visits. The chefs making them inside the boat did aawesome. The general rolls where sloppy. Loosely rolled with too much rice. The pieces were too big to comfortably eat whole. The flavor profile was lost due to the large quantity of rice. There was an obvious lack of variety as well.

This is, by far, my most favorite place to eat in Appleton, Wi. The sushi is always fresh and plentiful, and the staff are so friendly and fun. I always come here for the All-you-can-eat boats and often arrive upon opening due to the popularity. There is always a line on Saturdays before the restaurant even opens. I remember sitting in the restaurant one Friday and the staff was challenging each other to make onigiri-like pokeballs. The entire staff have such a fun, welcoming environment that it is hard not to converse and laugh with them. Food is made fresh in front of you, and unlike many restaurants, I have never seen a single fruit fly bothering me with my food.
