Zips diner will forever be a classic. I've been eating her since I was very little and the atmosphere is excellent. If you're searching for a classic diner look no further if you're in the area this is the one you wanna go to.

The food is good, the service is good, the coffee could be better, but hey that's what you get at a diner.

We have made this our weekly breakfast spot. We love coming here. They are always so friendly. They are so kind and sweet to our 10 month old daughter. The food is always good. The French toast is the best I've had anywhere. Quick service and not overly priced. Would recommend to anyone looking for a friendly environment and yummy food.

Stopped in for breakfast. Clean and staff friendly. Was surprised at how quickly food was delivered only to discover it wasn't cooked as ordered. I had eggs over medium and they came and eggs were runny. Dining companion had blueberry pancakes, that he said could have used more time on the griddle. Edible and good, not great. Would have been worth the extra couple minutes to have food cooked. Also, no one was "manning" the register. Had to wait for someone to take payment. Never a fan of that...

Food is ery good. The place is an old icon diner. Their prices are reasonable. Some may say it needs to be upgraded or cleaner. You can't clean old. Great place to go.

This place is a great spot for breakfast when in CT. The food is good, the prices are better than other breakfast places in the area, the only downside is the wait on a Sunday morning, it can fill up fast so get in early and grab your favorite seat.

Old time diner food and atmosphere. If you want fancy yuppy food this is not the place but if you want old time basic fare made extraordinarily well then pull up a seat. Best French toast and eggs I have had in years! I heard the home fries were 😋 ( so good they were gobbled down by BF before I could try, Brat!) Service was great too! Highly recommend. Hope to come back soon!!

I don't live in the area, but anytime I pass through I always try to stop at Zip's. If you're looking for a spotless example of a 1950s stainless steel diner, you won't find one more beautiful than Zip's. The wait staff and owner are very friendly, and the food is consistently good. The focus here is on diner comfort food classics, from breakfast classics like hash, eggs and pancakes to lunch and dinner specials, including scratch-made soup. For diner aficionados, the mid-'50s Jerry O'Mahony dining car is wonderfully preserved, right down to the vintage red and white china and the TALL neon sign on the roof. I've been eating here for 30 years, and it's always good.

This is a local gem. When I was a young kid and stayed with my grandfather for summer break on my last day before I went back home to Georgia, he would take me to Zips to get their Strawberry Shortcake. It was such a great tradition. Well I was in town visiting and wanted to let my kids try it. It's been years since I have been to Zips. Such a Classic Silver diner, that looks like it came right out of a 50's movie. You can even still drop 2 quarter's in the table side Juke box and listen to some tunes. We ordered a couple of shortcakes, a milkshake and a slice of Oreo Cream pie. The shortcake brought back a flood of childhood memories and it still tasted the same. Very few places still do the Bisquick Shortcake. Little crunchy warmed and soaked with the strawberry sauce, with a good helping of strawberries and then with cream on top.. I High-Five you Zips for not changing a classic and thank the dessert gods that blessed you with this recipe. I wish I could get it delivered to me in Richmond. They had a large selection of pies and the Oreo was a hit, as well as the milkshake. I couldn't say much on other food items, I would assume if they toon the care as with their desserts, they would all be good. Trust me, you can find a better place in the area with a classic look and better dessert!

Outstanding. I was indecisive so my waitress recommend a turkey sandwich and explained that the turkey was fresh roasted in house everyday. My hot turkey sandwich with gravy was generous and delicious. The turkey meat was heaping and falling apart. Even the side of cranberry sauce was far more generous than any other diner I've seen. I rounded it all off with a slice of lemon meringue pie. The meringue was perfect, no weeping, and held to the lemon tightly. I'm impressed and I'll be back.

I've been coming here since I was little with my parents and we always enjoy it here. I ordered the Western omlette, my dad ordered the Corned Beef Hash, and my mom ordered Sunnyside eggs with toast. To share, we ordered the blueberry pancake. I loved just about everything. The bread was buttered just right, my omlette was great, and dad and mom enjoyed the breakfast. My only complaint was that the blueberry pancakes were dry, it tasted but it was oddly dry and hard to cut into. Other than that, our waitress was a total sweetheart as well.
