Great Wall Cafe

This is my 4th time ordering from here in less then a week. Too me nothing beats my NYC Asian take out places but this restaurant has the best Asian food in Central Texas hands down. Usually Asian food in Central Texas is too greasy, too salty or under seasoned but all the dishes I have tried so far has been perfect. They have my business faithfully while I live in Central Texas. I highly recommend trying if you ever in the mood for Asian food.

I gave them three stars because the friendliness of the person on the phone. I don’t know if it’s a new manager but it tastes different. The bulgogi was good but the chicken wing was old. I ordered right as soon as they opened but that chicken wing was old and hard like it was made yesterday and they reheated it. As well as the rice. My rice was old it wasn’t freshly made and I ordered 10 minutes after they opened.

We ordered $75 worth of food. We ordered lo main and received spaghetti noodles…. When we called to the complain the lady on the phone was extremely rude and very unhelpful. The food was absolutely disgusting and we ended up throwing it out because it was just not sitting right with us. They were closing in an hour so I’m guessing they just rushed our food because it was made and at our door in 15 mins which was veryyyy quick for take out. Don’t order from here and if you do make sure it’s not around closing time because they will rush your food and will not care about mistakes made. Not the first time this has happened as well. Terrible place and horrible staff.

I ate here today and my first impression was that it was sketchy. On google, the place has mixed reviews but my experience was actually good. Our meal which consisted of three people ended up being $22.75. I had a the lunch special of sweet and sour and I loved it! I got a wonton soup with it, noodles, an egg roll and it came with an odd side of just one chicken wing. Even though it was a lunch plate, it was huge and I didnt eat it all but I took it home since it was that good. My service was amazing and it wasn't busy. Though, the decor was a bit odd. The quality of the building doesn't match how good the food actually was. It definitely needs an upgrade with the amount of servers and decoration. There were only 2 servers, but their teamwork was spectacular. Although it felt cozy, the decoration threw me off greatly. I rarely try new things, but I don't regret it one bit! I will definitely be coming here soon.
