Hallmark Restaurant

Great food that tastes homemade (turkey pot pie) with more than ample servings. Prices have definitely soared like everything else. Service was very good. Courtney our waitress, has improved her attitude over the years(matured?). She was actually quite pleasant and I would give her a 10 based on her service and attitude toward her customers. We enjoyed a great noon brunch. We always recommend Hallmark to company who visit us. Their menu has a dish to please most people.

Went in on Sunday morning prime breakfast time, we got our food delivered hot and under 15 minutes and this was with only seeing two servers on the floor. The food was so good, I got biscuit and gravy with grits, my husband got pancakes, eggs and sausage patties. The server was so nice and personable but still professional. you could tell that there was a lot of regular customer present and that the whole staff got alone and enjoyed working together ( you could see and hear the kitchen staff too.) The place had a retro dinner feel about it and it was awesome , it does look dated but I personally feel like it gives to the experience of it. I will be going back.

My 4-star review is mainly for the staff. They seriously treat you like family. You have to tread carefully though, because they can get really comfortable and really personal with you. My family and I don't mind it, we are very conservative, but always walk away smiling and laughing at their witty banter. +Parking/Location: Minimal parking. The restaurant sits next to a motel so it's rather congested and sketchy to be honest. There are 2 handicap parking spots. The place is always packed! +Atmosphere: It’s an old run down restaurant, so while they try to maintain a clean and inviting environment, it doesn’t feel entirely clean all the time. There is only one bathroom stall in the ladies bathroom and it is in need of a deep cleaning to say the least. As aforementioned, we love the staff, they seriously treat you like family. They are very attentive to your needs. There are regulars in there all the time. The menu is American influence. Family friendly environment. Masks are optional. You pay on your way out at the register. +Quality of Food: Large portion sizes. You could easily share a plate with a friend or family member. Food always comes out hot and fresh. Food is good, not delicious, but good and it satisfies. I'd pick Hallmark Restaurant over IHOP or Denny's any day of the week. This is our favorite family go to! +Pricing: $10 - $20 per plate

Usually I have no issues, haven’t been in a while so I found out the prices went up. No problem right, well if you pay for a fish plate and fries you expect more then 19 fries…yes I counted. Anyway, I called to let them know hey my food was not only a little light, but old and was told you can bring it back and we can fix it for you but it will take another 20-25 minutes…if it took that long the first time then my food would have been fresh. Oh well you live and you learn, it’s just not the same anymore. Food used to be amazing, now it is a hit or miss.

We went around noon on a Sunday for brunch. We were told to seat ourselves. Seemed like a bad idea as no one came to greet us. A waitress picking up rugs saw us unattended and after a while decided to help us..she dropped off menus and brought our drinks- without washing her hands. She graciously understood when my daughter requested a new cup of coffee. Waitresses, about 6 of them, ate, drank, used their masks as chin straps, readjusted their bra straps, scratched their heads, argued over schedule, wiped up spills on the floor- NEVER washing their hands. We specifically asked our waitress to wash her hands before handling our toast- she catered our request by wearing gloves. Restaurant cleanliness was mediocre. Crumbs on table when we sat. Plastic shower curtains between the booths. Overall it needs a refresh. Booth is old, you can feel the metal bar in the seat. Food was good! Large portions, well-seasoned, and hot. My daughter said her grits were great. Prices were about $15/meal with drink which I though was a good value.
