Country Tavern Barbecue

Thank you to the show Daytripper, for showing us this place. The service is amazing. Our server has a calm & attentive demeanor, which was perfect during a lunch hour. Let's get into the food. Hubby enjoyed the ribs. Moist, tender & perfectly cooked. Cooked with a sauce, which was a hint of sweet. His sides of potato casserole was tasty & cheesy; spicy mac 'n cheese has s creamy sauce and a hint of jalapeno. My plate of turkey and brisket was a plentiful one. The turkey was moist & had a beautiful smoke flavor. The star of this plate was the BRISKET. What a flavor!! It was tender, not salty, delicious smoke flavor & melted in my mouth. Had leftovers, and no room for dessert, so hopefully I can update next time. *was not impressed with the coleslaw because it was sweet, but potato salad made up for it

Great food. Baked potato casserole was amazing and the turkey was heavenly! My daughter had some brisket and she now wants that for dinner every day! The spicy Mac and cheese is a good twist on a classic favorite. Love that they bring out warm hand towels after for you to clean up with! Our waitress was great! The inside is very loud and very dimly lit, so people with poor eyesight (like me) be careful! They don't have an actual menu, the server just tells you what they - KISS method, they don't have a wide variety but what they do have they make damn well! Worth the wait and the cobbler is to die for!

Went here a couple years ago on a cross country move. An older gentleman at a rest stop told us about it and had to stop. Literally THE BEST ribs I've ever had. Jalapeño Mac n cheese was fantastic and the homemade banana pudding was to die for. From now on everything I go through Texas I'm stopping here. Great service wonderful food and overall great experience.

I got two meat plate with ribs and brisket. The brisket was amazing. You can cut it with your fork and I didn't use sauce except to taste the sauce which was thin, a bit spicy, not too sweet and very good. It enhanced the smoke flavor well. The ribs were very good. I've had better in KC, according to my taste, but the were tender and excellent, just not quite as amazing as the brisket. Spicy mac & cheese was also excellent. Lots of flavor and a spiciness that stayed just the right amount if time - jalapeños I am pretty sure. Very good cole slaw. Service was great. Definitely worth the drive.
