Lava Rock Bar & Grill

Lava rock was one of our favorite bars in Kihei! Sunshine, the hostess, was great. She welcomed us with a huge smile, got us settled at our table, and even cracked a joke. Lucas, our sever, was on top of it. We had a party of 20 that all arrived at different times and he was attentive and made sure everyone had full drinks all night long. The food is great, but the happy hour deals are even better! Dont miss stopping at Lava Rock if you need a good atmosphere and awesome service.

I called in an order for pick-up while in Kihei the other day, and it was seriously the best food of the trip! I ordered the Luau Trio plate, and it was delicious, way better than spending $100 to really attend a Luau. The fried pickles may have been the best Ive ever had, I want to see the cucumbers they use to make those pickles because they must be giant. The quesadilla was yummy, and the molten lava cake was bomb.

2 of us were seated by Chelsea. She was so friendly and personable even though it was busy. I had asked for a rail table. They were all full but she said she'd keep an eye and move us if one opened up. The view was incredible, the $3 mimosa was delicious, and the food was standard but good. Would definitely eat here again and recommend this place and special thanks to Chelsea for being such a great server.

We got a table out on the covered patio and it was a great option to enjoy the breeze and watch the sunset. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and she recommended some great drink options. We started off with Lava Flows and they were fantastic! I also got mahi mahi tacos, which were delicious!

If you like an open air island concept, this is for you! (We loved it) Definitely makes you feel right where you are with a slice of the coast and tropical breeze the whole time. Service is very friendly and adequate. We went during dinner, but if you want to party, stay a little later! Great bar vibe. The food was tasty, and the portions were great. There is an Argentine fusion in some of the dishes to make it stand out. Even though it's simple, we loved the Lava Fries with a chimichurri sauce that packs just the right amount of flavor and a little heat. The ribs fell off the bone, as they should. Fish tacos had a fresh and tasty salsa. Local favorite Kalua Pork and cabbage was juicy and just right, and if you like lobster you can't beat the price of twin tails with shrimp! I saw several steaks go out....a must for next time. Served on a hot sizzling plate. Avoid the chicken, it looked like chicken strips, battered and fried. Not real meat. Overall, WONDERFUL.

We had a great lunch at the Lava Rock Bar and Grill. The Ahi was some of the freshest on the island and the sesame seaweed salad was flavorful and complimentary. My wife enjoyed the loaded fries with aioli. My father-in-law had the barbeque wings. The drinks were beautiful and paired well with the meal. Great atmosphere and service. Isobel was friendly and professional. Highly recommend!
