The food was good small portions the place is very very out dated. A paint job would go along way here. At least their tables are sturdy. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Prices where appropriate for the portion sizes.

Huge menu! The deal of the day was chicken tenders which were custom cuts and hand breaded and fried. Amazing! The salad bar was great and soup was tasty as well. 👍👍

Tommy is one of the few restaurants trying to keep prices down. I applaud him for this. Which might explain his "outdated" decor. I do believe his drinks are a little pricey. This will not keep me from enjoying his numerous selections. Besides there is always water...

We attended a horse show at Blackhawk College and were looking for a place for dinner late one night and decided on the Red Apple. Best decision ever! Do not be out off by the looks of the outside of the restaurant because within lays the most gracious snd friendly server/waiter/ cook and owner! He was SO good! The menu is HIGE, anything and everything you might want plus awesome new dishes you never knew you wanted!! If he recommends something ( like his potatoes, ( best in town he told us!) take him at his word, they are fantastic!! He has homemade, hand breaded chicken tenders that are out of this world! He was extremely attentive and the food was unbelievably fast and absolutely delicious!! We had a youngster with us snd he treated her like a princess!! They even have a $1 menu ( who has that today!) that includes things like, biscuits and gravy and cheeseburgers and all manners of delicious options! Really cannot say enough good things about this place, I only wish it was closer to our home, so we could go every day!! ❤️❤️❤️ If you are in Kewanee or even make a special trip from where you are, please go!!! You will not be disappointed!!!

Good food, excellent prices. Who cares about the decor being outdated. It's a small town restaurant, keeping costs down is important! I stop by whenever I'm coming through town and always find something I like- the menu is HUGE!!!
