Burger Queen

I’ve been waiting to return to Ketchikan to go to Burger Queen, and finally today I am back and this is one of my first stops. Currently they only have outdoor service, order from window and take away or eat at one of the two picnic tables. The burgers are great here, the wait is worth it. There was no line when I ordered and it took about 12 minutes for my order to be ready. Not bad considering last time I was here two years ago it was about 30 minute wait. I got the barbecue cheeseburger which has cheddar, bacon and bbq sauce. It was amazing, as expected. I don’t know what they do to make the burger so good here! It’s a very small nondescript place, you would not expect something so good out of a place that looks like this!

A cruise ship crew recommended this restaurant to me. He told me most of their staff come here when ship docks. so I decided to give it a try and I was glad I did. My friends told me the burger was delicious. I really loved my fish and chips. It was cooked just right and the batter was crispy. The fries were golden and crispy. It took a bit of time before we got our orders, but it was worth the wait. It's a small little restaurant with just a few tables and a few seats outside. Very decent prices. I really enjoyed this restaurant!

The young lady who took our order was very nice and professional, told us to expect a longer wait time (multiple cruise ships were in harbor) and no problems there. Waited around 35 minutes or so on the two old picnic tables and the door to the kitchen was open and they cooks were cussing up a storm. They were dropping F bombs and talking mess about the cruise ship passengers causing them to be extra busy…. (Don’t you want business!?) Got our orders finally and my friends order was wrong. They then proceeded to talk mess about our friend who asked them to correct the wrong order. Ended up asking for a refund for her order and just leaving with them continuing to cuss and talk about us while we were still sitting there. So unprofessional. I gave it two stars because my food wasn’t bad but the people who work there is enough to make me never go back or recommend.

Food can be a bit slow here but nobody cares and there's a really good reason, the burgers are broiled over actual charcoal and they taste AWESOME! Definitely worth any wait. Arguably the best burger on the island. There are many tasty things on the menu, something for everybody pretty much, but I never got past the burger. The fries are a very worthy addition to the basket and they rule in their own rite. You won't be sorry.
