We stopped in en route to Toronto and were treated to Rick's recommended sandwiches: meatball and salmon with onion on pumpernickel. He's a voluble food entrepreneur with a friendly manner and plenty of local knowledge. Be forewarned: the actual Shack is pretty teeny- just a counter with 3 or 4 stools, with a front (only) row view of meal prep. Someday a Food Channel guy is going to include this place in an episode!

I accidentally ordered the veggie burger, but WOW it was such an amazing mistake. The black bean burger had such a nice cumin flavor. The place doesn't look like much but don't be fooled, the food is quite good.

Great food. Good prices. We catered a small gathering at our house from here and the owner even called the day after to ensure the food was up to par. Definitely recommend it, the smoked salmon sandwich is amazing.
