I had the Rudan's Club and Banana Oatmeal Cake. Both were outstanding and incredibly delicious. The chicken was moist and flavorful and paired well with the pork roll and LTO on Portuguese bread. The cake was super moist, tasty, and warm. I recommend!

Food's really good if you can get it, but they sold out of donuts, God's Bread, and vanilla braid by like 9a today. It's pretty frustrating that they bill themselves as a bakery. You can almost always get cafe food (soup, sandwiches, coffee, drinks), and that stuff's pretty good, but the sweets are gone before breakfast except for the cookies, and the cookies aren't great. They're not terrible though. So if you want cafe, I'd give them 4 stars. But the bakery feels more and more like an afterthought. It's a shame because quality and service are great, the people are wonderful and the pan de deux (God's Bread) is amazing. It's two stars because the food is generally unavailable to the point that I can't remember a time when they had all four things I order on the same day. They average about 2 out of 4 by 10a Saturday and they're closed Sunday. Weekdays are usually a little better, but not great. If you want the best Portuguese baked goods I've ever had, try to get there by 7a. If you want something at a reasonable hour, try Emily's in Union if you can get there. Otherwise if you want a great tosta mista or a nice cafe brunch, Brunella's is pretty solid.

Obsessed with the pasteis de nata here. I always make sure to get a few when I'm in town visiting from Los Angeles because nothing in LA can compare to these! So delicious.

Love this cafe. My husband and I have Friday morning dates (post kids drop off) every week and have gone to most of the breakfast/coffee places in town over the past couple years since we moved here, but once we found Brunella, it’s become our go to. We come here every Friday morning now, sometimes a second morning if work allows. The latte is amazing and there’s always a great variety of bakery treats to try- Nutella donuts, everything croissants, cheese bread, etc.. and their vegetarian soups (split pea, yankee bean, etc) are delicious as well.. all very reasonably priced. The owner is lovely and clearly has a passion for what she does. Attaching the photos we’ve taken each week over the last year or so.. will keep coming back as long as they have us!
