Frosting The Town

We were having a family reunion in Seaquest Park and needed a celebration cake. We live in Northern Calif and I didnt want to haul a big cake to Washington. I got on the internet and found Frosting the town. I called, she sent me a menu on private messenger, I called her back, she helped me decide on the perfect cake, filling and frosting. Then she had someone meet me Sunday morn to pick up the cake. The cake was decorated perfectly and most of it tasted wonderful. The cake was a SUCCESS! The service was impeccable. Thank you.

The owner is a good friend of mine. The woman is amazing very talented and continues to take courses whenever possible pertaining to decorating cakes, frosting, appearance, Elegance & General baking. the large variety of cupcakes are available in many flavors & cute decorations. The cakes are all different and unique and the fillings are super yummy. Cookies, breads and other treats are all so delicious! It is difficult to purchase just one item. I have purchased many of the delicious cupcakes that are filled or topped with cream cheese, peanut butter, chocolate, lemon, caramel, and other yummy flavors as you can see from the many pictures. Wonderful family owned buisness, the lady and her mom are sweet hearts. I had a gift card that I had purchased through a school fundraiser, I decided my daughter birthday cake was a good time as any, to use it. The cake was ordered a week in advance (although the hours the store is open, I had to make a few trips before I caught someone there). The cake was beautifully decorated with the flowers and glitter things I asked for. We were very pleased with how it looked. Unfortunately, the chocolate cake with strawberry filling, was very dry and unflavorful. The filling wasn't bad. The butter cream frosting was delicious, but had really hope for an overall better product from a little mom/pop shop. It wasn't for lack of trying, customer service was amazing and as the name says it, the frosting was 110%.

We ordered 3 dozen cupcakes and an 8 inch cake for graduation. On the day of the party the lady said she would call me at 11:00 and i could com pick them up. I called her and did not get call back till 12:15 when she got to the shop. Wife asked her if they could put some graduation decoration like cap and scrolls on it when we ordered it. This is what we got, a congrats and her name. The cake its self was dry and the frosting awful, now I'am one of those guy that like frosting and will eat the sugary cake, but even i could not stand it. For the cost of like around $130 i expected much better from a place like this. We could have got better from the big box store. Very disappointing form a small local store.

Frosting the Town is a small "hole in the wall" type shop along the West side highway from Longview to Castle Rock. They have various cakes, cupcakes and cookies. I always love to find the next best place for a nice treat and much to my delight I have often discovered great bakeries and other specialty shops. I wanted to try this place based on a friend's recommendation. After doing so, all I can say is the items here are very pricey for what you get. Post script...when the owner read my comment I received a rude message back directing me to walmart. Nothing warranted their rudeness. I gave my honest opinion and I stand by it. I certainly WILL go elsewhere for specialty bakery items. I don't need to deal with that kind of attitude on top of exorbitant prices.
