Kanemitsu Bakery

Nice local restaurant whose menu and atmosphere reminded me of the places I grew up going to on Guam. I had the kimchi fried rice for breakfast, and my partner had the fried egg sandwich. Also purchased taro donuts to go. Everything was delicious. They were short staffed that particular morning, so service was slow. But perhaps just a classic observation of island time, cause truly, what reason is there to rush? Cool that you just seat yourself at your preferred seat, and they'll get to you when it's your turn. Otherwise, you can just order from the bakery up front for pastries and take out orders. We didn't make it back for the hot bread in the evening, but trust that the hype is real.

Food was suuuuper good. The service was just a tad bit slow but it’s one waitress serving every table, taking every order, etc. So when you think about it like that the service was perfect. They’re very friendly too!! We got the breakfast plate with Portuguese sausage and fried rice. This is my go to breakfast plate and this is for sure the best I’ve had. Also ordered the breakfast sandwich which was surprisingly VERY hearty. Came with 3 eggs and 6 slices of Portuguese sausage on it. We also ordered 3 donuts and they were AMAZING. Sooo soft and just melt in your mouth. Cinnamon glazed twist, coconut flake twist, and a strawberry and cream cheese streusel like thing.
