The Dolphin Poipu - Kauai - Photo album

Excellent meal; our fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked! Really delicious, hot and fresh. Like many island restaurants they may be a little understaffed, but patience is a virtue and the food is well worth the wait and the lovely atmosphere.
Best restaurant on Kauai that I’ve tried, hands down. The fish here is incredible, especially the yellowtail with Jalapeño in a truffle ponzu sauce which is the best thing I’ve eaten in recent memory. Highly recommend the calamari which is super tender and very different from others that I’ve tried.
Dec. 21, 2022 update New opening time for the fish market at dolphin poipu: Wed. 10am-5pm Th+Fr. 10am-3pm Adding the star back on because they allowed us to stay on the porch till 5pm when the restaurant was opened. The poke bowl, the dolphin roll, and the chowder were excellent. Also very friendly
Great dinner. Excellent food and fresh fish. Loved the seared Teriyaki Ahi and the Cali Roll. Good service and an excellent meal overall. Prices are fair for Kauai. This is expensive- but not as much as some places. It's on our list to do again next time we are here!
We wanted to have a sushi and Dolphin Poipu was recommended to us. We made a reservation and was seated immediately. We ordered cocktails and ordered the shrimp cocktail, lava, hanalei, poipu and sunset over the top rolls. It was definitely enough food for five people. The restaurant is in the S
We ate at the sushi bar and had the rainbow poke. It’s the best poke we have had on the island. I got the poke over rice and my wife had it over salad. I’m picky about my rice. I don’t like it hard or mushy. It was perfect! Friendly staff, good food and fresh fish!
We had reservations so got in right away. Had a bit of a wait for drinks and food but we were okay with it. The atmosphere was awesome and our server was the only server in our area. I wish I could remember her name. She was doing a great job and tried not to let her frustration show. The food was a
Started with calamari, incredible! Had some sushi, some teriyaki ahi and a delicious hebi!!! Every bite was delicious! Waiter was super knowledgeable and helpful in our selections. Service is outstanding! The staff here have a family vibe! The chefs are top notch! Make a reservation and experience
Husband and I came 30 min early and was told will be called shortly as soon as there's a table available... true enough we were seated within 10 min... our server was warm and friendly... despite having other guests to attend to she was on point and checked on us regularly... the whole place was pac
Went back here twice that’s how good it was!!! Endless amount of items on the menu!! So good even if you aren’t a fish eater like myself. Best loaded baked potato. A must go!!!
The service was great! The customer prior to us had lost her phone and the staff went above and beyond to help her find it. She had dropped it over the edge into the garden/bush area. One of the staff went around to retrieve it for her. But, back to the food. The Chirashi Bowl had probably the be
Very good sushi! There’s not a ton of sushi rolls on the menu, but who needs a hundred options? We got 4 rolls: Dolphin (pictured), Flyin Hawaiian, Unagi, and U-Megan-Me-Crazy. All were incredible, but my favorites were Dolphin and Unagi. I recommend making a reservation. We went for dinner and the
Excellent sushi restaurant! Ate with a reservation and it worked out well. The sushi selection was decent but not the best ever, with 9 expensive rolls and a bunch of medium priced. As for main menu items, there were a decent number as well. The sushi rolls were much smaller in diameter than I exp
We sat at the sushi bar, Reggie was our sushi master. Hats off... He did great! He was very attentive to our needs and particularly to my wife's dislikes. He did a great job and served us perfectly. I would recommend the fish market and the never frozen, fresh and locally caught seafood. The peopl
We sat at the sushi bar and had the best sushi experience I've ever had. Bar is first come first served. Worth showing up right when they open.
I gave it a 5 star because we did not have a reservation, but they were still able to find us table, the couple behind us were turned away. I ordered fresh ahi seared and it was perfect But, it came with plain old white rice and corn out of a can with some spices in it. David had the sushi sampler
