It was amazing!! Best shave I've and we tried another place with good ratings that we thought was the best, until we tried this. The guy is great and refreshed our snow caps which are definitely worth getting.
Best Shave Ice on Kauai. ... maybe the best shave ice on the planet. I know it's the best I've ever had. You'll find Aaron's cart in front of the Big Save from about 1:30pm (or 2pm) - 5pm Monday - Friday. Unless it's a bad weather or a major holiday. At $3 for as many flavors as you want, it's a steal - so be sure to give him a big tip.
Best Shave Ice I've ever had. Saw reviews and wanted to go try it and I'm so glad we did. The owner was one of the kindest people I've ever met. The flavors are seriously out of this world. So glad we found this place. It might be a daily stop for us until we leave the island.
It’s easy to miss as it’s sometimes hidden behind a big white van, but look for the big red sign on the wall of the grocery store.
Aaron was the friendliest, most genuine human. We had a lovely chat as I enjoyed a delicious lilikoi, pog, and melona shave ice with ice cap. It was simply fantastic. Aaron really made the effort to connect, and we had a great talk about slowing down to enjoy the everyday gifts Kauai has to offer. I can’t recommend his stand enough!
FYI: I went in off season. Aaron says he works 130ish - 5pm, Monday-Friday during this period.
This place is the best shave ice on this island. It's authentic hawaiian shave ice and only $3 for every 3 flavors of your custom. Aaron is the nicest person i ever met. The only place me & my husband have shave ice when we want. I'm highly recommend to everyone go to Hawaii, don't forget to stop here.
Definitely one of the best Shave Ice in Kauai! Quality ice, yes, there's such a thing! You have to know what you like, because there's no pre-customized menu choice... but if you ask, he's very knowledgeable and will help get you the taste you're looking for. Note that this is right outside of the store, it is not a food truck!
We saw he had 5 stars and were skeptical. Boy were we wrong!! This is the 5th place on the island we’ve had Shave Ice and it’s been our favorite. The ice is so soft, the flavors are delicious, and the owner is probably the nicest guy we’ve met on our trip. We walked like 2 miles and passed two other Shave Ice places just to try this and our party of 6 all said unanimously that it was worth the long walk. And yes, he was eager to top off our snow caps before we started the long walk back.
Awesome shave ice! Old school delicious, super fluffy, and amazing flavors. The owner gave us recommendations for flavors and, as we were leaving, gave us a cup with his favorite flavors, on the house. Forget the hipster bs, this is real shave ice. What a great stop! Highly recommended.
Who knew that the best shaved ice could be found outside in a small stand next to a grocery store? We went to a few other shaved ice places but kept coming back here! The owner was so nice and super friendly. His flavor suggestions were spot on- try lilikoi and mango with a snowcap.We will come back here everytime we are in Kauai.
We go here every vacation, and we've been to *a lot* of other places. Ice is very soft and syrups are homemade. Inexpensive compared to other places, and tastes better. Erin is the owner and one of the nicest people on the island.
The best on Kauai! Such a great value, great flavors and amazing hospitality. We went on a crappy weather day and ate in our car and the guy working came over to our car to offer more snowcap before we left. He also gave us great suggestions for the island. Very happy with this place!
Best shave ice in kauai hands down...fluffy soft ice, really great syrups. And the owner Aaron is a super nice guy who will give great recommendations if you are having a hard time deciding on flavors. He's been doing this for 32 years! Only open M-F 1:30-5pm, so plan your day around it! (And get a fish burrito next door at Ver'de while you are at it)
