A great spot. I was hesitant, but there was no need as it is great. The service was very friendly, our chef was fantastic and the food was delicious. Both the sushi and tepanyaki. Must try in south KC.

Excellent food and service. Extremely accommodating - I am a celiac and can't have gluten - they suggested alternatives, cooked my food first, and took great care of me. The portions are very generous. My husband, who is a bit of a tempura expert, said the tempura was what he had been missing for years. He said it was what he had been looking for and he'll be back for more. Highly recommend.

Ok ladies and gentlemen... our experience was unlike any that most people will have. They had just reopened so we had the most undivided attention you could possibly get. Yes we had amazing service the other times but this last trip was absolutely amazing. We were served by the owner and his wife and they did not disappoint in any way. We have three kids 12 and under and his presentation was phenomenal. Their food was exceptional and I say this with confidence because we ordered alot of different items. I hope the bar is open because they were waiting on a license. We were told many people didn't stay because of drinks were unavailable yet. YOU PEOPLE REALLY MISSED OUT! We will be back as often as we can I promise.

This is one of my favorite places to get sushi! The owner is also a sushi chef, and has on multiple occasions made sushi for us. The first time we went there his sushi chef had called out from being sick, and the owner was so busy trying to run the kitchen and make rolls at the same time. But, he had an amazing attitude, and I could tell he genuinely enjoys serving people in his restaurant. The food is always on point, and you can’t beat the price. The quality and service are worth more than they cost, without a doubt. I can’t wait to go again!
If sushi isn’t your thing, bring the family and go the hibachi route instead! They always put on a show of the meal, and get everyone laughing and having a good time. Even when we sit at the sushi bar, we enjoy watching the fun across the way.

WOW!! This was my first visit but definitely won't be my last.
There were 15 in our group and the service we received was great. We were greeted upon arrival by the owner, Tony. He was all smiles and gave us a genuine welcome. After looking over the drink menu we first noticed that drink prices were very reasonable, $5.50 for mixed drinks and $4 for most wines, and the selection was very good. He took our drink orders and we received our drinks quickly.
We placed our food orders from an extensive menu. Prices ranged from $14 to $34. Fried rice was $2 extra. Soup was brought out quickly followed by a salad. Both were yummy. Two cooks came to service our group. As always at a hibachi style restaurant it is fun to watch the show that the cooks put on. It seems that I can never catch the flipped shrimp. Besides the fried rice you also get veggies and noodles. The food was very tasty with large portions.
Tony came around several times to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed.
Bring your big appetite and find your way to this restaurant; you won't be disappointed.

We live in the area and were super excited to try the new hibachi. The staff was super friendly and took very good care of us. The sushi came out very quickly and was just delicious. Soup and salad were great and dinner was amazing. The decor was light and airy. Prices were reasonable. Overall it was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely be going back.

What an awesome find. I know that they are fairly new. We went for my girlfriends birthday. She wanted sushi and we'd heard really good things about them. They weren't as busy as I was expecting them to be and that was a bit disappointing. They deserve to be busy!! Everything was amazing! She said her sushi was out of this world. I had chicken and steak teriyaki, also great. The manager, Tony, really nice guy. Our server was great. Go check this place out. Do yourself the favor. They have sushi, hibachi, and a full bar. What are you waiting for??....

Great service. The chef was very entertaining but more importantly the food was perfectly cooked! The food was fresh and it came through in the taste. The prices were very reasonable as well. I think my family has found our new Japanese Steakhouse.

First time coming and the service was great and the food was just as comparable! Tony was completely awesome and attentive. Our cook Andy was awesome too. Our server was also on top of everything! He had us laughing the whole time! It was all around an amazing experience! Definitely coming back!!

This place was wonderful. The good was plentiful, cooked to put liking, and very tasty. Tony the manager made sure to check up on us and to get out opinion on the service and our food. Absolute RAVE!!!!!! To FUJI Japanese steakhouse. Absolutely delicious! Not to mention top notch customer service. So so so yummy. They were fast and the portions were outstanding! We had great drinks and the manager Tony was so personable and great. He even got us hot sake on the house! 🍶 will be back. Such a great local spot for some darn good food and company.

This place was incredible. There is a place in TOPEKA that I have always loved so we decided to try this out. Hands down WAY better!! The chef Andy and the manager Tony were amazing. Everyone was so friendly. The shrimp was huge and the food was just to perfection. Highly recommend!!!

My family took me to Fuji Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar for my birthday. Normally, I do not visit restaurants that have no cars in the parking lot but was set on giving this place a chance because of the highly rated reviews. Although we were the only group there for hibachi service, we received the full entertaining show. I had salad, miso soup, fried rice, grilled chicken and shrimp. Everything was delicious! Everyone in my group enjoyed the show and food. Ok, so now for the not so good. The service is a little slow and the menus a little confusing. I think that is because there isnt a lot of business coming through their doors. Once again, my personal opinion - business would grow if there was more advertisement. They've got a good thing going, in a great location and need to let KC know. Despite these minor details, we will be visiting again because the food was really good. This place is a hidden gem. I've lived in south KC for many years and never new it was there.

The food was delicious. I had the teriyaki chicken and it was the best I've ever had. The yum yum sauce is a MUST try! What sets this place apart is the service. We had such a great time and our chef was hilarious. Worth every penny.

If I could give it a 6 star I would. We went to Fuji last week for my bday lunch. I am sooo glad we did. Our waiter (wish I had got his name) is very good at his job. He made sure we had everything we needed, and checked on us often. The chef who made our food was fun and upbeat. He made the experience very fun. For sure try the spicy mushrooms and the egg rolls!! We have been to nearly every Japanese steakhouse in kc and a few around the US and this ranks high on our list! The meat was seasoned perfectly, rice was delicious, the veggies were super fresh. It was just the perfect meal. I loved how clean it was. I also loved that they have it spread out enough so you don't feel like sardines! VERY GOOD FOOD AND STAFF! The location is a bit odd (connected to a hotel) you would miss if if you weren't looking for it but I highly recommend you giving it a try!!

Absolutely amazing. Came here the weekend following their opening with family to celebrate a birthday. The staff was friendly and attentive. Sushi menu was extensive and had spicy crab salad my fiancée that adored, which is saying alot as she is quite particular on how it should be fixed. The steakhouse portion was truly dinner and a show! I saw some of the chef tricks I've seen before, and a few new ones. It has quickly been added to my list of favorites.

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was awesome as well as the hospitality! Me and my dad ordered the Filet Minion and shrimp for 2, along with the Calamari appetizer! The dinner course started with a lovely bowl of onion soup followed by an outstanding salad! Then came the large plate of the calamari appetizer which was amesome! The portion was great along with the sweet and sour dipping sauce as well as a side of Yum Yum sauce! Then our awesome cook named Rex came out and wow what a show! He started with some fire tricks and juggling his tools, then plopped the rice on the grill, cracked a couple eggs with great form, then followed that up with garlic and some soy sauce! Next came the filet minion, shrimp, and an awesome variety of veggies, all the while we carried in some great conversation! From the courteous owner on down to the chefs and servers was just a wonderful experience! Will definitely be visiting on a regular basis! Thanks for the awesome experience Fuji and keep up the great work! 😬👍
