Kansas City’s coolest restaurant! Fresh local ingredients... and they offer a 10 course tasting menu (as well as regular menu.)
I heard that they will accommodate diet restrictions so my wife and I got the 10 course tasting but vegan and gluten free. (But they have meat options as well.)
I was skeptical that they would really accommodate my request ... and make it taste good.
Whoah! Freshwater surpassed my expectations. Every dish was amazing. Flavorful but not over spiced or heavy or bland.
I highly recommend this restaurant. Seriously. It is truly amazing. I took photos of each course.

They have a 10 course tasting you can do. We chose to try this because we had never been to the restaurant before. The food was very good. The service was amazing and the experience was on that will bring us back. The bartender was excellent and came to the table to make sure our drinks met our expectations and even shared some his knowledge with us. I highly recommend this restaurant.
This is some of the best food I've had in KCMO, hands down. Anytime you can get a course meal for 70 bucks, I'm in. The first few were a tad underwhelming but the 4th course on was on point. I'd recommend trying Freshwater but I don't think the pre fixe is for everyone.
Very ambitious restaurant. Great quality and attention to detail in food preperation and presentation. The food and service were exquisite! However, dont expect to be impressed with the decor. It is definately a starter set that theyve opened up with, but id expect the quality of flatware, tables, chairs and such to increase as their business takes off. Well worth a the try, and I'd guess you'll want to come back, too.
Had a great multi-course vegan dinner here and loved every bite! The service was great, the meal was timed perfectly, the variety and creatively was excellent and the price was quite reasonable for a meal of the caliber. Highly recommended!
Very nice place. Visited with co-workers and were able to sit at the Chef table. The steak was very good along with the white sweet potato side. The kale was out of this world. Love the place!
We did the 10 course small plates menu, they took care of our dietary restrictions, everything we tried was incredible. Great mixture of tastes and types of food. Service was polite and dutiful.
A romantic dining ambiance paired with quality eats. Good local dining off the beaten path! The food is solid. An admirable customer service experience. The venue is small but endearing. Book the table closest to the kitchen to fully immerse yourself in greatness. A great choice to celebrate an anniversary or impress a date at an affordable price. I can't wait for this restaurant to come back!
We had the most scrumptious meal that was perfectly prepared and served. Every dish is so carefully designed, both to taste wonderful and to look beautiful. The servers make dining out at Freshwater such a treat and everyone makes you feel welcomed and special. Vegetarian's will find lots of options both on the regular menu and as specially prepared options by the chef. Love, love, love this place!!!!
We experienced the tasting menu and wine pairing. The food was exceptional as well as the service and food presentation. The value for the number of tastings and glasses of wine, plus description of wine with each pour was well worth it. Our servers were attentive and capable.
We were seated in the kitchen area, however, and our overall experience was seriously dampened by the excessive heat with no airflow or relief. We were very uncomfortable on a day with the outdoor temperature at 100 degrees. Otherwise our experience would have been perfect.
