The hang out spot! Great drinks and good vibes! The drink names are fun and unique! Staff is friendly and makes great drinks also. They have books you can buy and read in the store. You gotta check it out for yourself.
Oh my gosh what a darling little gem that’s not talked about nearly enough. Come to read a book solo with a cocktail, sit at the bar and people watch, play table top board games with friends and enjoy the chill vibe. It’s got a great view of some Kansas City buildings and lights and their decor and staff is all adorable. We loved our Friday night evening spent here and it wasn’t over crowded at all. We will be back for a good read and more banana cocktails! Holy moly.
Nice relaxed- vibes bar with seating options inside and out and for groups. I liked the music the night we went (alt/emo) and the drinks were good. I will say, I thought it would be more 'bookstore that serves drinks' but it was definitely more 'cocktail bar that sells books', not a bad thing but good to know! Seems like they had some board games and cards, plus a chess game for those who are interested!
What a great hidden gem in Kansas City. The bartenders were super friendly and the drinks were just fantastic (and often named after famous novels).
Definitely try the espresso martini; you won't be disappointed.
Wonderful ambience and atmosphere. That being said, space is a bit tight and that also makes the service slow down when they are busy. Having food readily available would help even it is delivered from the restaurants around. Great place if you are a party of 2 😉 😉

What a great relaxing vibe.
The wine selection was surprisingly diverse. The cocktail list was a fun updated play on some classic drinks.
We loved the chess board tables and the access to board games as well.

Afterword is a unique bar experience. The cocktails are a little pricey, but they are fancy and worth it. The environment is excellent and full of wonderful books. My only complaint is the lack of food - don’t come expecting to eat or you’ll be disappointed. However, there are lots of food options around, so eat before or after, but be sure to plan a drink stop at Afterword!

We stopped here after a wonderful dinner and our drinks were very good and service was great ! They had a great selection of drinks. This place is cozy, quaint and a great place to relax with friends. We'll def be back ! Thank you to our servers for their prompt greeting upon entering and fantastic service.

This place has a great vibe and a unique feel. They have an entire shelf of games to pass the time and a bookshelf of local and historical classics. The staff were friendly and even went out of their way to make my custom drink with a smile.
