Went for dinner last week. Was so good, had to come back today for one of the lunch special bento boxes. The servers are attentive and polite, the food is amazing. As far as price, this is a hidden gem, because you can eat delicious food at a great value. The rock and roll sushi roll and lobster roll are some of my faves, and the miso soup is spot on. Will be returning anytime I get a sushi craving.
Great menu, friendly. Could have had a bit more attentive service but overall a great little place
Sat down for an authentic sushi meal before heading over to planet anime downtown.
The food came out super fast and the service was extra fast for being moderately busy. The portion sizes were amazing.
Best sushi in KC. You can't go wrong if you eat here. Not only are the prices reasonable, but the food is outstanding. The waitress was excellent and all 3 sushi chefs were hard at work (you can watch them work).
I recommend coming hungry because the rolls are quite large. I will absolutely be back again and I live 2 hours away (yes. It's that good!)
Good, tasty sushi at a reasonable price. Happy hour bento boxes were big enough to leave us satisfied, though we might get individual pieces on their own next time! High recommends cause we will be visiting again!
We have had to come to KC twice from out of state for Dr's appts. This place did not disappoint the first time, so we came back for our second visit. The sushi was GREAT, service was good and atmosphere was good. I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys sushi.
This place has a great balance of quality and price! My husband and I usually go there for when we crave fresh sushi. The eel, tuna and yellow tales are our favorite. Best bang for the bucks? Lunch bento $11.75 for two sushi, a roll, salad, soup and a choice of rice or egg roll.
Love the food here and they are so nice. I’ve always got delivery but I had to call and correct an order when I forgot to request something. They were so nice about it and fixed it for me. The fried rice is the best I’ve ever had and my favorite thing to get. My sushi friends highly recommend them as well.
Our first time eating at Friends and it was awesome!! We both got the Sunset roll. He got the chefs plate, I got a Philly roll, sweet shrimp, and onion soup. He got Miso soup. All of it was fresh and tasted amazing. Our server was very attentive and made sure we had our drinks full. Average prices for sushi. We will certainly eat here again!
While based on reviews, time, and distance, we were not going to go here, the wife and I certainly were. We are in town on a trip and wanted sushi. The only complaint we could have was parking which is not their fault.
The prices on food were more than reasonable
3 dollar soda
6 dollar basic sushi rolls
14 dollar dinner bento boxes
2 dollar soups.
To start, the miso and onion soup wasn't just broth and 1 leaf of seaweed or tofu. But what I felt was a fair mix, about 75% of broth and 25% of seaweed, tofu mushrooms, etc (depending on the soup choice), the sushi were larger than average. And the bento box was amazing. The fish all tasted fresh, felt like nothing was prepared ahead of time but made fresh.
The staff could only be described as some of the best. Friendly and accommodating. My wife is used to a roll back home in Iowa and the server and chefs were willing to modify their existing basic rolls by adding cream cheese to make it like we were home. It definitely made our night.
Our server. Jackson, was also very kind and patient with us as we as out of towners took longer than our usual to order as we discovered the menu.
The soda did not taste watered down at all which was also refreshing to see they were using the right coke to soda water mix. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a good amount of food to quality ratio. Just plan for extra time to walk here or to find parking. We ended up after 30 minutes parking about 3 blocks away which wasn't bad but definitely my only complaint.
What a lovely place! Major kudos to the hostess— she was able to seat our party of six in 20 minutes on a busy Saturday evening. The server was attentive and friendly. The sushi was outstanding and fresh and the ramen was exceptional. Serving size and menu prices were a fantastic deal. Highly recommend if you’re in KC!
I rated it 4 stars because I compare everything else to Bob Wasabi still! Always fresh, consistent quality here though.
