The food & service here is fantastic & the owner is very personal -- I came in yesterday with a friend for the lunch buffet & noticed my favorite item wasn't out as a buffet option. After getting my first plate, I walked back to my table and (without me even asking about it), the owner had my favorite dish there waiting at my place! I hadn't been into his restaurant in months and he remembered my favorite dish anyway -- now THAT is a personal business owner! Thank you, I will be back & will bring more guests in the future :) Blessings

The best service in town! This was my first time I’ve tried Indian food and they didn’t disappoint. She suggested the Chicken Tikka Marsala and Garlic Naan and it was great! Will be returning for sure!

This charming spot on 39th Street serves tasty food in a pleasant, quiet atmosphere. I was dealing with some stress the last time I went here, and the restaurant was exactly what I needed to unwind and enjoy a good meal. I got chicken tikka masala, which I deliberately ordered mild (not in the mood for a challenging experience). It was delicious, though it might be a bit too sweet for some tastes. The garlic naan with onion was excellent. I could make a whole meal out of just the bread with some masala sauce to dip it in. The service is friendly but not chatty, which I appreciated. The atmosphere is typical for an Indian restaurant. However, there’s no background music, so the place can be fairly quiet when there aren’t a lot of people there. Personally, I love that, though it might bother you if you like a noisy environment while you eat and try to carry on a conversation.

I read other reviews of their food, where some people were highly critical. I ate at the buffet. I liked their food. Maybe I am not a connoisseur of Indian food. My only criticism was of their lamb samosa. Not much flavor, but a LOT of salt. Everything else was fine. Nice people. 07/12/22, well a second trip was required to see how the buffet stacked up. I find a second trip will confirm your original impressions or tell you if you were wrong. I am happy to say it is still a 👍👍 up.

i ordered take out, the man who greets everyone who walks in was super nice. i asked for water, and he didn’t have proper cup for water so he made it possible. however, i don’t like the butter chicken because it had no flavor. like…it had flavor but have you ever ate something and it seems like it’s missing something? like a little seasoning or a little kick? this is what it’s missing. the bread, well the bread is okay. it’s bread. i like the rice, the rice is decent. it’s rice. i do kinda like the chicken tho, but it doesn’t bite tenderly to me. but anyways, the customer service is amazing. i haven’t had food straightly from their buffet, however it looks clean. i’d say go try it. to each their owns.

First time trying the lunch buffet, recommended by a friend and it was pretty good. The service was great, very friendly and social owner. The food was typical Indian cuisine, I definitely would come back. The only reason that i didn't give a five star is because there naan was over cooked, but of course I still soaked in the various dishes and devoured. Great experience!

I see mixed reviews about this place but the only dishes I’ve ever tried here have always been good. The chicken tikki masala (not pictured) is always reliable. My other go to is the Chicken Tikka and it’s served on a sizzling skillet on top of a bed of onions and peppers. The garlic naan is a must. The vegetable pakora is really good it’s deep fried veggies with this good sauce.

What a delicious restaurant! Everything there is PHENOMENAL and can easily be made dairy-free for those of us that need it. I really loved their samosas, especially, and that biryani was so fragrant! I'll certainly be back.

* Get the meat samosas it’s very good The parking to eat here is absolutely atrocious because everything is street parking and they took out the one parking lot for everyone to park at. Despite than that, this food is good! I ordered chicken saag, chicken karahi, and garlic naan. They got my order wrong and instead of karahi gave me butter chicken, but it was still pretty good, so I can’t complain. I would not recommend the chicken tikka because it is extremely sweet, also the buffet when I came once was $25 a person which was a bit of a shock. Other than that, it has never been too crowded and everyone is pretty nice. The TV playing Bollywood movies is both a blessing and sometimes annoying, but it’s a staple of a good Indian Restaurant.

Excellent buffet! There was a variety of dishes ranging from mild to spicy. The chai was some of the best I have had in KC and the Mango Lassies were excellent. I was extremely pleased with my visit. It is definitely worth a look. The owner and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The lunch buffet is perfect! So many delicious vegetarian options, and everything is fresh and hot. I was so excited about the mango lassi and chai tea available with the buffet. It's fun to add the cold options (like the chutneys and sauces) to different bites and really create an experience too :) Don't forget about dessert! The carrot dessert is AMAZING, and the rice pudding is an incredible complement. We arrived a little after 1:30 today (the buffet closes at 2:30), but next time I will be back shortly after they open so that I can relax and slow down to savor every bite. Thank you to everyone at Taj Palace for welcoming us into an amazing lunch!

My absolute favorite place for Indian food. I’ve eaten here about 6 times now and have loved every meal I’ve had. The Onion Bhajee was ok, I prefer the Veggie Pakora or Veggie Samosa. Kashmiri Naan is incredible, have it as a dessert! Each visit I have eaten a different chicken dish and have loved each one. My favorite thus far is the Karahi. Service is also fantastic, both guys are friendly, always happy and they will take great care of you.
