OMG!! Smacking! So glad we stopped here during our visit to Kansas, MO to watch the KC game. We will definitely be back in December. Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak which came with a cheesy bacon biscuit, mashed potatoes, and green beans with an Oktober Fest bear. Also ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich served with potatoes and their secret sauce (hella good) with a blueberry lemonade with Titos. Everything was cooked to perfection!! Wish we a spot like this in the Bay Area!! The Chicken fried steak isn't on the menu but they have it just ask for it. Angelica was our waitress and she was very helpful and provided excellent customer service!! We will totally be back!

One of the best fried chicken spots in KC. Their fried green tomatoes are delicious, and the ranch & buffalo sauce go well with the chicken strips. They always have a great selection of local beers as well.

My friend suggested I try brookside poultry since it's one of his favorite places to eat. I called to order chicken tenders and fresh fries to go and it was ready by the time I arrived. The staff was super friendly and I was excited to try the chicken. There was a small issue with my order so I let them know and they were amazing at taking care of everything. I respect the attention they give to the quality of food and excellent service. Thank you!

Everything is amazing the food and the atmosphere. I got shrimp and grits while my sister got the chicken with all the topping. Letting me try both the chicken so moist gals off the bone. My shrimp was nice and juicy in very tasteful grits. Defiantly coming again and bring friends.

Look at the size of that chicken sandwich! And it's not quantity over quality, the immense flavor you get from every crispy, juicy bite is a testament to the well prepared sandwich. The French dip was made with a potroast like meat which I had never seen and I enjoyed a different and delicious taste on this classic.

This place is so amazing!!! Awesome staff and delicious food! I highly recommend this place. I had the Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and a AMAZING biscuit. And great drinks.

First time here and it won't be our last. Everything we ordered was great. Chicken is amazing and my hubby really enjoyed their She Crab Soup. Service was top notch as well.

Super service excellent atmosphere and tasty food! Easy to find at 63rd and oak but limited street parking only. The dining room is small but large enough for the normal crowd with roomy counter service also available. Today I had the boneless breast and potatoes, I also tried the chicken salad sandwich as well as the cheesey biscuits with ham off my friends plate! Everyone enjoyed the food and cozy atmosphere here on a rainy day.

4.5 if Google would allow it. We were finally able to make time to have lunch at Brooksode Poyltry and we were so happy that we did. Setting the atmosphere up. You would drive right by BPC if you were not looking for it. The awning over the store is dark in color and the letter are hard to see unless your looking. Parking is as well hard, but what can you expect for Brookside really.... After you navigate into the building your pleasantly surprised by the resturants size. Tall ceiling with bright colors bound the room. Very large bar across the right side of the reaturant allows for extra seating and a quick lunch. There is around 50 or so possible seats in the reaturant. The staff was lovely to meet us and quick to explain the specials. If you don't try the chicken you have missed something that is for sure! We should have lessened to our waitress as we order 4 seperate meals and had plans to share them. That amounted to an arm's worth if food! The chicken fingers are to die for, the American style potatoes were beautiful cooked and even the green beans and cheesey potatoes were good. Overall we will absolutely be coming back to BPC!

Wholesome, Local and delicious. I finally got into this restaurant and it was everything and more. The food was delicious the homemade drinks were superb. The waitstaff was great she made great suggestions about the menu ! I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu ! Come here and eat you won't leave hungry or disappointed!

2nd time here and it's just as awesome as the first. Very attentive staff and the food is amazing. Diverse menu for food and drinks. Can literally only think of positive things to say. I had the spicy chicken sandwich special the first time I came and it was so I good I ordered it again on the second trip.

I am so in LOVE with Brookside Poultry! I literally eat here 2-3x a week! Everything is made from scratch and it taste like home cooking. The Staff is an added bonus... feels like home when you walk in the door. you are greeted and treated like a friend or friendly neighbor instead of a customer. I Highly recommend you come back multiple times to try Everything on the menu. The Duck is my favorite.

I was impressed by this place. I had the chicken strips my wife had boneless thighs both were very tasty and juicy. The sides we were greenbeans, cheesy potatoes and fried green tomatoes. All of them great. The staff were all helpful and very nice. I will be be going back and I recommend it.

When we entered our noses were greeted with the delightful aroma of well seasoned chicken cooked in fresh oil. Even in the cold weather the only immediately available seats were two at the bar. We were impressed by the wide selection of both beer (20+) and wine (30+) for a place that can only seat about 40. Excitedly we looked over the menu and decided to divide and conquer as much as we reasonably could. My wife chose the chicken breast upgraded to a meal and I chose the (supersized) chicken wings. We decided to start with and share the order of fried green tomatoes and cheddar biscuits. I chose a Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat and my wife chose a Cab Sav to compliment our meals. The Fried Green Tomatoes were very well prepared. You could tell the tomatoes were cut fresh and cooked in oil hot enough to make the batter crispy. They were complimented with a creamy sauce, chopped spinach and diced red tomatoes. It was a great balance of acid. salt, fat, and spice. We watched as two batches of biscuits were pulled from the oven. One slightly more caramelized than the other, hoping we would be able to sample one of each batch. Our wish came true. I preferred the slightly more caramelized version as I felt the more crispy exterior complimented the moist and crumbly interior. I watched in excitement as Chef Charles tossed my fresh fried chicken wings in the sauce (the bar seating was a nice front row seat to the kitchen). I found the seasoning to be a nice balance between hot and sweet for the broader audience (I prefer more kick but realize I am an outlier). My wife's chicken breast was crispy outside with a moist and well brined interior. The cheddar potatoes were divine. The potatoes were parboiled so that they had firmness, but were supple. The cheese mixture cocooned them in smooth, creamy texture. The green beans were lightly seasoned and cooked so that they had a nice, light firmness and retained tenderness. We finished with the Key Lime Pie. It was very tasty. I would have preferred more lime flavor and slightly more crust, but both the filling and topping were whipped to perfection. Light without being too airy. Consistent without being too firm. They even recommended a great white wine to pair with the pie and allowed us to split the glass. Brookside Poultry Company has dedicated itself their menu and it shows! Chef Charles truly has earned the "Chef" title as this limited menu restaurant creates taste sensations through focus and dedication. The great food is complimented by a family of employees that serve the food with pride and you can feel the authentic connection. We greatly enjoyed out interaction with our server Justin. On a cute note. There are coloring sheets for the kiddos to fill out. Chef Charles took time out of cooking and personally hung one child's "chicken" creation exactly where they wanted it on the wall and wrote the kids name (as they spelled it) on the adjacent chalkboard. It was a heartwarming moment. I'm wishing Brookside continued success and hopefully they will open a location in NKC soon...

Place has some good chicken. I ordered the chicken strips and got 5 good sized strips of chicken. They came with fried jalapenos which made it feel a bit hotter than expected. The place itself was really busy and kinda loud, and it took awhile to get seated and ordered, which kinda sucked.

I am VERY impressed with this place, the staff and the food. We went Sunday around 3 which was a good time before the dinner rush and sat at the bar. They have happy hour all the time with $1.25 to $3 beers, a decent selection of wines and delicious fresh food. I had the chicken tenders which were a great balance of sweet and spice but I was jealous of my companion who had the chicken salad sandwich and fried potatoes that was delicious. The owner was working and came by to make sure everything was good which was a nice touch. By far the best chicken we have eaten - an excellent locally owned and operated place for lunch or dinner! I took a few photos for Google while I was there so you can see the place online but I suggest you check it out in person but go early because they do get busy.

Opening day lunch with Lisa Mirabile & Renee Kelly at the new Brookside Poultry Company. Wow, we sampled some of the finest fried chicken and Southern cuisine this chef has experienced in Kansas City. Chef Charles d'Ablaing has his hand on as he prepares his signature 48 sour cream brine fried chicken and it is absolutely delicious. Did I mention how crispy & moist it was? Authentic and perfectly prepared Shrimp and Grits and again, the best Hot Chicken Wings I have had. Homemade Cheddar Potatoes and Cheddar & Ham Biscuits along with homemade Key Lime Pie to die for. All I can say is make plans to go, I guarantee you will enjoy. As we left, I told the ladies I canโ€™t wait to return. First things first. The restaurant, although small, is a very nice & comfortable neighborhood cafe. The atmosphere is quite relaxed. It was kind of like people relaxing at their dinner table. Music was a little loud but not annoying. I chose to sit at the bar and was provided with a menu right away by a friendly staff person. He explained the menu as this was a first visit for me. Next, for the good stuff. I chose from the menu the shrimp & grits, a thigh and a piece of key lime pie. OMG, EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! The grits were perfectly seasoned, not overly cheesy, not gritty, not thick but oh so creamy. The piรจce de rรฉsistance was the chili-braised butter shrimp. They were not mushy but just the right texture and they were not small. The chili butter sauce was delightful. What can I say about the crispy chicken thigh that has not already been said? It was nicely seasoned and crispy. The meat was tender and very flavorful (buttermilk marinated). It too was not mushy. And for dessert I had a piece of key lime pie - delish! The key lime was not over powering. Lastly, since I was by myself, I had the pleasure of having dinner company, an Aussie by the name of Gary who is a staff person at the restaurant. He was very friendly and we talked about a variety of subjects. Eating at the Brookside Poultry Company was indeed a treat.

Opening night at BPC Brookside Poultry Company was just as I expected...awesome! This round we tried the wings they are sweet and spicy...so good but not too hot. If youโ€™ve ever been to the Raphael and had Charles d'Ablaingโ€™s fried chicken you know how good it was. So good that the lady next to us scheduled her business trip around his opening. She told us she was a regular at the Raphael because of his fried chicken. It is incredibly crispy and juicy just like my Grandmas, she used buttermilk brine overnight. Charles does his for 48 hours in a sour cream brine. Needless to say it was a cheat day for me and worth every bite!

Everything was spot on... the cheddar biscuits were ridiculously good. Cant wait to go back to try, well... everything else on the menu. The service was wonderful. Great casual ambience. Plan on a wait or carry out... it's a small space. Best fried chicken I've had in KC.

The whole duck was just amazing, the best I ever had. We also had fried chicken thighs, chicken wings, cheddar potato and green beans, fried tomatoes, and their big salad. Everything was excellent. My new favorite place!

Went to Brookside Poultry Company for lunch today with a coworker. AMAZING. I had the Izabella sandwich that I asked to make spicy. Juiciest chicken sandwich I've ever eaten. My coworker had the chicken salad and she raved over how awesome it was. I stole a bite and have to agree. I'm typically not into chicken salad because I find it often to be way too mayo-y. This did not disappoint. Definitely getting the chicken salad next time around. Dining area is not huge but we easily found a seat at the bar at prime lunchtime. I'll definitely be back.

Hands down, BY FAR my favorite chicken I have EVER had in Kansas City. I actually quit going out for chicken because it was either dry, not seasoned well, or just too simple. Rest assured, I will be making this my "go to" place for chicken and next I cant wait to try the shrimp and grits!

Decided to get smart and try this place soon after they opened for lunch this weekend. If you have a wait, itโ€™s worth it! BPCโ€™s wings are fried perfectly, crisp and not greasy. The fried green tomatoes is as great as everyone has raved. Yes, save room for the Key Lime Pie. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about how the chicken is prepped. Thanks for making our neighborhood brighter and more delicious. Wishing you guys lots of success. Weโ€™ll be back in!
