Good food, good atmosphere, and some of the nicest wait staff around. Surprised to see this doesn't have a higher "like" rating. It is a little on the pricey side but worth it for a nice night out with friends or a date.
Great for carryout!. This is my second time getting carryout from Anthony's (I just never thought of it before now) and it's great. My food has been ready when I got there both times and it's convenient, easy-in, easy-out.
Great service and the food was great. started with the calamari and had the veal mellenZano..perfect.
I was surprised, the food is actually really good! The lunch prices are pretty cheap too.
Oh how I love this restaurant.shrimp scampi yummy.. Love the spaghetti and meatballs.. I feel like I always welcome here. My new fav restaurant. My husband takes me here on date night. We dont go out much but when we get our night I will always pick Anthonys. but im always to full to try desserts.next time im gonna start with that first. Im sure it will be excellent. So if you want quiet night in the town come here. Great food, ausome service.
I really want to like it more.... ... but I can't get passed their red sauce. Sugo and Sunday Gravy is a very personal thing and suffice it to say I do NOT particularly care for sweet red sauces. I do prefer a more spicy, southern Italian style which is not readily available in Kansas City. That being said, Anthony's compensates beautifully with their diavolo and the olive oil, butter and garlic sauces... really quite excellent. I was also disappointed in their carbonarra presentation; pancetta, egg yolk and pecorino simplicity was presented as fettucini alfredo with bacon in the Anthony's rendition. It was delicious, just not carbonarra.
Essentially, Anthony's will be unable to meet my standards for what I want from traditional Italian fare, BUT, their food is flat out delicious and very easily negotiable.
The is a great old italian place. The food is excellent! We had dinner there last night. The lasagna is the best I ever had. Great date night!
Very old school Italian. I usually get the tortellini de Carlo. You have to ask for the "italian butter" for your bread, Omg!
Lovely. This place is straight out of the movie "Goodfellas". Makes you think twice about eating with your back to the door. :) Love the food and the ambiance. The staff was great as well. Good job Anthony's.
Old School. Anthony's gives you a glimpse back onto a dinning experience somewhat lost in today's modern Italian eateries. Very cozy with impeccable service. The red sauce that accompanies many of the dishes on the menu is simple with a pleasant amount of spice to compliment even the simplest order. The lasagna is still handmade here and when paired with Italian sausage, it's hard not to smile afterward.
Great local establishment! Why support a chain restaurant when you can enjoy and support a great local restaurant. Menu is loaded with meals ready to excite your taste buds. Service goes above and beyond to make your dining experience top notch. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
Stopped in for a drink and to pass some time. The staff was amazing. They were very attentive, and all my needs were met. The bar drinks were great! Had a long island ice tea, and i can't count how often people mess that drink up! Didn't stay long enough to eat, but the menu looked amazing, and the food smelled really good. Come check this place out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Finally was able to pop into the famous, iconic, historic Anthony's on Grand. It did not disappoint! Kelly, our server, had exceptional customer service and very knowledgeable of the menu.
The Linguine w/ Sugo was so savory! 🍝
Can't wait to explore more of the menu!
We had a great young man as our servicer.
He was very nice, he took great care of us.
The serve warm bread with butter, so yummy.
▪︎What put it over the top for me, was when our server brought our bills ( I was with 2 of my co-workers) this young man brought us bags to put our to-go containers in. It may sound strange, but you just don't know.
▪︎I give him 20 ☆'s.
▪︎You don't know how many times, I have had to chase a server down (different restaurants, to get my server for a bag).
Someone taught him to pay attention to details. I so truly appreciate this.
▪︎I recommend to stop in, enjoy lunch special or dinner with your family & friends. ♡
The food was yummy. I had the Italian steak sandwich with pasta with Alfredo sauce. ♡
Great Italian food. Service very fresh and good. Full Bar. It’s like walking back in time.
Been ordering carryout and dine-in from this place for YEARS! EVERYTHING is fantastic! Salad is fresh, noodles prepared perfectly, and staff that is there every step of the way! (You'll always get a good tip from me!)
I will order from this family run restaurant until I am out of reach.
KC Mafia, delicious Italian food, cozy atmosphere, and awesome service was all part of our dining experience. You've got to try it out, if only once. Their calamari appetizer was "keep calm, don't panic if you see a Mafia descendant sitting at the table beside you" delicious.
Traditional American Italian food. Lots of suga (sugary tomato sauce). I opted for a garlic sauce which tasted really really good, however the pasta was so overdone to the point that just stirring it a bit trying to find any chicken turned the noodles into a pile of mush. I didn't really mind as I go there for the vibe. The atmosphere is like time traveling, Frank Sinatra on the speakers, plush button tuck seats, low lighting. I love it. Word of caution if you are allergic to poison ivy, the entire wall in the parking lot (south side of the building) is covered in it. I was so amazed I snapped a picture!
This is one of our favorite restaurants I highly recommend going there. I had Angel hair pasta with oil butter and garlic It was so good. I definitely recommend anybody to go there. You just feel like family there.
Came in the night prior. Service to the table was quick.
Took a little long for water's to be delivered, then for the waitress to show up to take our orders.
We ordered our drinks and appetizer (tosted ravioli), and before we could get onto the main course, the waitress said thanks and did another set of her rounds.
Got the appetizer, then 2 minutes later, the drinks. We typically get Jack n cokes at every diner we go to, and I have to say, it tasted like there was a splash and not a full serving. We ordered, and food came out quick.
I got the chicken parmesan, and she got the eggplant parmesan.
Chicken came out a little overcooked but not bad. Eggplant came out perfect!
Overall, decent dinning experience and would come back but not often.
