Tonight we had dinner with our vendor who was in from India. He said that the food is the closest to what he gets at home that he has had in his last 10 years of travel to the states! What a great evening! Our waiter was so wonderful! He made sure that we had everything we needed and constantly checked on us! He was also so much fun!
Make sure you get dessert even if you are beyond stuffed! The rice pudding and the doughnuts that are in a yummy syrup are the two best items for dessert!!! WOW!!!!
The atmosphere is also very beautiful and inviting! Seating is very comfortable and the area we were seated in allowed for the 5 of us to be able to have a conversation where we could hear each other talk. Next time we are all in KC, we will be back to enjoy your restaurant!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
Once we walked in, the divine smell hits you…. Constancio was a fantastic server, who had us laughing so much && made the whole experience even better!!!! We came with someone who loves indian food;😍❤️She was absolutely ecstatic with the experience as well as the how delicious the food was!!!!! 🥰🤤❤️🥰
Thank you, we will be back!!
Edit: the experience
I want to start my review by saying that I would probably eat at Swagat again. My score is based on my first visit, and I wasn't impressed with my choice of food. Overall, the food was good, but not great, but others in my group enjoyed their meals. I will trying something different to see if I like my choice better. My original order of classic curry wasn't that awesome.
I was so impressed with this place. Food was amazing and the staff was attentive. The whole place was well maintained. Had i know i would have dresses better. Must try if you like Indian food.
This is my first time trying Indian food. The portions look small, but they fill you up. The nan breads were delicious. Alcoholic drinks were good (and strong, depending on what you get). The only complaint I had was that the lighting was too dim. Wish it was a little brighter where we sat.
The food is really good. I would have to say better now than a couple of years ago. I recommend taking advantage of the buffet. It is a really nice place...not a hole in the wall. Highly recommend.
06/12/22, for those of you who have been waiting for the return of the weekend buffet, it’s back.
11/18/22, this restaurant is getting my rating as the best Indian buffet in town👍👍
10/09/23, I ate here again today. The food was great. New pictures.
Best service, atmosphere, Food was excellent; My waiter was OUTSTANDING. Went above & beyond thank you Constancio, for everything you made the experience great. We hope to see you soon.
Swagat really is Fine Indian Cuisine in Kansas City! Decor was great & reflected the Indian theme. Food was superb, served quickly, piping hot, with just the right amount of spice (we went mild). My Fish Kadai, in a red sauce with chunks of peppers & onions, was tasty, tasty, tasty. My wife got the Chicken Mango & it was the perfect blend of sweet & spicy. The saffron rice was light, fluffy, & the perfect compliment to the dishes. We got the Special Nan & all I can say is that you have got to try this yummy version of Nan with potatoes! We sat outside & enjoyed watching the comings & going of Zona Rosa. Staff was great and did a great job serving us (Thank you!). We had a great dinner & look forward to coming back and trying a new dish.
Great service and food! We were treated promptly by the friendly host and waiter. Our food came not too long after we ordered! I definitely recommend this place!
I absolutely love this place! The buffet is a great way to try out a variety of delicious flavors. I love that nearly everything is gluten free, and that there are both meat and vegetarian options. I can’t choose just one favorite dish! I loved them all. If you come, you might consider putting on your best pair of stretchy pants, because you’ll want to try it all!
