I had such a great experience here. First time I went it was live music and the waiter was very sweet. I didn't like the cajun chicken pasta and he took it back with no problem. The X Rated Lady martini is amazing. The last 2 times I went, my waiter Tyler was so sweet and helpful. I have no complaints. Also my favorite thing is the lobster fondue!! ITS AMAZING!! Would recommend 100%

Sarah was our server and she was great! She recommended drinks that we might like and answered all of our questions cheerfully and politely. I had the Road Trip which was BBQ ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Everything delicious and most. I was honestly a bit sceptical of how their BBQ would be but the meat was high quality and well smoked. The atmosphere was also great! Live jazz, a whiskey, and smoked meat. That's a trifecta that not many restaurants in Kalamazoo can boast. I'm a big fan of The Union and can't wait to go back!

SERVICE: Was perfect. The young woman who took our order was very attentive and seemed like she genuinely wanted to be there. Her smile was contagious and I'm glad she served us! FOOD - DINNER: SO YUMMY!! I got the ribs with a side of red skin potatoes and Mac and cheese. First of all, the meat on the ribs SLID right off on all but two of the bones. I barely had to even work for my meat. I was actually happy to have to chew off the meat on that last two bones as half the fun of eating ribs is eating like a caveman, right? The potatoes came whole and were crispy on the outside and I wanted to die because it was so good. They have a basket of BBQ sauce you get to choose from, too, which I loved because I LOVE BBQ! FOOD - DESSERT: I got the lemon curd cheesecake and it was super delicious. I loved the mix of tart and rich sweetness. DRINKS: I had an alcoholic drinks, a mule basically. It wasn't a heavy pour (which I hate). MUSIC: It stated the music would start at 7pm I believe but it didn't start until well after 8pm. But, it was a nice rockabilly duet and I loved it. I enjoyed having the live music with my food and company. OVERALL: Will definitely be going back. Good food, service, and atmosphere.

I went on a Wednesday night and they had a great jazz performance! Good mac and cheese and beer. I got the mushroom and onion mac and cheese as a side and I loved it! Their beef brisket and side of salad were mediocre though. The brisket wasn't really served like a brisket (sliced meat), it was rather a pulled brisket.

My friend and I have been there twice now. Both times was a blast. Good food, good drinks, good service, and amazing music. I was blown away by the talent of the band on stage. They were incredible. It was the Groove Lab if I remember correctly. Highly recommend.

Great local restaurant. The menu is loosely themed around "southern" blues/comfort fare, so lots of barbecue, mac n cheese and gumbo, along with dishes featuring okra or grits. Prices are fair and the staff are friendly. They have various deals on their food and drinks during weekdays as well (including half off on Thursdays from 4pm-6pm), along with live, local music during the evenings, which only gives you more incentive to try them out! Been here over a dozen times and have yet to have a poor experience.

So the Lobster Fondue is amazing and the bread they give you is perfect. It's nice and warm and fresh. On the other hand their mushrooms fries are terrible. Cutting the mushrooms makes them to thin so they dry out when you cook them. You end up with little breaded rocks. I ordered the chicken salad and that was pretty average. It had good flavor with but it needed more mayo, it was a little dry. The mac and cheese was also just alright. For something that gets a whole page of options the mac itself should have more flavor. The service was very good though. The waitress was attentive without being hovery. I wish we could have stayed for the live music but unfortunately had to leave before they started. Overall a good place to sit and have drinks over appetizers (minus the mushroom fries) but not somewhere to go for dinner.

Friendly staff. Live music was pretty good although a bit too loud. Made it difficult to talk with people at our table. Chicken wings were great. BBQ sauces were fantastic. Ribs feel right off the bone

Great for live music and friend gatherings. Drinks are fair, food is above average in taste and quality. Prices are comparable to other places in the Millennium Group.
