La Palma

I have eaten Mexican food throughout the US. I have always eaten at places run by authentic Mexican cooks. I look at cost, taste, presentation and portion size. Depending on where you are in the US usually guides the spice levels. If your near Mexico it’s hotter and if your in Maine it’s not as hot. At least that’s been my experience. Juan is a very nice guy with very little personality on the front end. However, you can tell he cares but suffers from language issues. The food here is authentic and the flavors are not to strong and not to weak. I have eaten here several times and always left not being hungry and happy. I’ve eaten all over the Capital district and had a little better here and there but paid way way more. For what this place charges and what you get here in little ole Johnstown, this is one heck of a place. I have included some pictures and just tell Juan, “some guy sent you” Give this place a try it’s really good.

Decided to give these guys a try yesterday, and I'm glad we did! The amount of food you get/portioning for the price is well worth it. Everything was filling and we had leftovers for today. Glad to have a mexican restaurant in the area that isn't "Taco Bell". The only downside I had was just having it delivered. Certain items were separated into their components and we had to figure out what went with what. But that's nbd really. Highly recommend!

I was really excited to find an actual Mexican place nearby.. but this was the most bland and flavorless food I've ever had served to me. Is there no salt in the kitchen? How about some Adobo? Not a drop cumin to be found? Not to mention the place was filthy. Fingerprints all over the glass door. Dried food smeared on the table. The bathroom should have a sign that says Do Not Touch. The only part I enjoyed was the bottled Jarritos soda. Total bummer.

Has to be the worst Mexican food I've ever seen. Meat was cut into little stringy pieces. I dont think anyone would be able to identify the meat. A billion more onions than other vegetables or meat. Beans were a soupy puddle. Food made my stomach hurt. Resturant could use cleaning and updating. 2nd star for offering different food in the area, and being able to do online orders.

Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch with my wife......dining area was freezing, had to be below 60 degrees when we walked in and sat down....menus tossed on the table with barely a grunt of greeting......2 smoke detectors that needed a battery change hitting our ears with the intermittent low battery blast.....walked out without ordering - first time we have EVER done that in any restaurant......unbelievable! Can't even review the food....
