Don't believe the Google location. They're actually across the street and a little further south from the Google location. Worth the trip. We both had the Steak Oscar and the cook knows what medium rare is. Top it off with the newly added Terminal Gravity IPA and great service for a dinner worth the stop in Eastern Oregon.

I had another great meal tonight. The beef tenderloin was perfectly prepared and delicious. Can' t beat the stuffed baker!! Solid restaurant !!
The staff is fantastic. Great personalities and just the right amount if attention. The food? Awesome! Had a nice thick sirloin with salad garlic mashed potatoes and corn. The steak was a bit too rare and having it cooked a little more was no issue. Perfection. Great staff, food, flavor. Stop and enjoy but make a reservation or stop early.

Gourmet Food from a Top Chef - Once Bit - You'll Always Return. The Snaffle Bit food, service, and ambience are all 5-Star. You want gourmet comfort food at a reasonable price - pull over on 395 in John Day. I had a grilled salmon to die for, with delicious steak cut fries, and for starters, a tomato soup - that's "tomato soup" in name only. This is not like any tomato soup you've every tasted. My friend ordered the tenderloin steak grilled to perfection with a sweet potato from heaven. I also enjoyed a Mirror Lake Ale on tap that rounded out an exceptional evening of dining. This family owned and operated - treated us like family - the chef (extraordinary - nothing less), her sister, son, and niece all welcomed, served and "schmoozed" - yeah it's my good old New Yorker way of saying took care of us and talked with us like we'd been friends for life. The chef's husband sat down with us at the bar and topped off his night (and OUR night) enjoying his steak and down home good conversation. Okay - we didn't order dessert - but let me tell you - because we were sitting at the bar - we were subject to the most inhumane torture of watching the array of delicious desserts being prepared for diners eating in the dining room - can you say huge scoops of ice cream heaped on top of brownies with berries and chocolate syrup drizzled on top. Are you salivating yet. That was just one amongst the many mouth watering sweet possibilities that tantilized our eyes. Go, enjoy. You will not be disappointed - well except when you have to leave.

True story. Three weeks ago, while walking
around a yard sell, phone in pocket, I received an email thanking me for my purchase. While in my pocket I ordered and payed for a new toilet from ebay 365$
Now that wasn't funny.
Was passing through, planning on going to Grubsteak. As luck would have it- Grubsteak was closed. I was SO GLAD! Brenda was awesome!! The steaks are top quality. I had the ribeye and HOMEMADE tomato soup with baked potato. Highly recommend the Copper style. It is WELL worth the money. I promise you haven’t had anything similar before. I’ll definitely try to be back at some point!!
Very good food, but just a tip, halibut was like (fish an chips).
Absolutely incredible the mushrooms alone on the dish was a meal in themselves and the piece of meat, a ribeye, it was absolutely fantastic

Went there for my birthday. Excellent steaks. Always first class friendly service. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Always enough food to take home.
