My 8-year-old son and I travel through East Texas 2-3 times a year on our way to the beach, and I've always tried to find different little BBQ joints along the way. Well, we happened to stop at Billy's on our last trip down, and my son immediately declared it a must-stop from now on. The sliced beef sandwich was smoky, tender, juicy, and loaded with meat. We got the sauce on the side, which I recommend, and he drank the sauce along with his sandwich. We liked the food and the people so much that we stopped again on the way home. Certainly not fancy, but why would you want it to be? Great food and friendly people. Hard to beat that!
