We really enjoyed ourselves at Mugsy's. Located in a nicely restored older building just off the square in Jacksonville, it was just a nice place to sit and chat with old college friends over a couple of beers. Dinner was their salmon special and was delicious; well beyond the quality level that is normally expected from local restaurants in Jacksonville. (In fairness, there are a couple of other spots downtown that look to be worth checking out.) Good food, good service, and good atmosphere means we'll be back the next time we come to town.
It was just wonderful. We were a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meal very much. The only complaint was that the vegetables weren't cook enough but still had good flavor. We will return soon.
My husband & I always celebrate our anniversary with a Prime Rib dinner so this being our 10th, we definitely didn’t want to break tradition!! With it sometimes hard to find, we found Muggsy’s served it on the weekends so thought we would give it a try! We were VERY impressed!! The food, atmosphere, & staff were AMAZING!! The King Prime Rib was HUGE & was cooked exactly as ordered!! Hope, our waitress, was fantastic!! Drinks never were empty! The Chef came out to check to see how our meal was & wish us a Happy Anniversary! It wasn’t until the end we found out that the hostess & bus boys were all at Homecoming, leaving just 2 waitresses to handle the entire restaurant....they were so good, we didn’t even realize they were understaffed!!

I've dined here three times while traveling and every time has been great! The rainbow trout special tonight was outstanding and I have nothing but compliments for the service! While "fine dining" is in the name the prices are reasonable and you would not be turned away for wearing jeans.
Excellent service and food. Sat 20 people , including 7 teenagers without a reservation or prior notice and we had dinner served in less than 40 minutes!! Very friendly staff and fresh, homemade food.
Great beer cheese soup! Our waitress was great. There was 10 of us and was on spot. Couldn't ask for better service. Thank you.
