Fabulous "Street tacos". The trio was pretty good - love the Pico de Gallo on the guacamole. Service was amazing, especially in light of the large crowd (including our table of about 12 people) We kinda nosh'd instead of eating meals. I especially gave our server a big tip. I'm sure he was worried a large table of just appetizers might not tip well - but he still hustled his hinder for us! Yay!
Just lovely people working there!

I am in here at least once a week. Their chips and salsa is amazing every single time and no matter what I order I’m always impressed. It’s so delicious and it seems that no matter how busy they are, getting seated is never an issue and you are always waited on promptly! It’s always a must in town.

We had a young server and he was super nice! Great atmosphere with AMAZING Al Pastor Mexican Style (street) Tacos. The restaurant was clean and the chips&salsa was delicious. The bathrooms were a little small and cold but not horrible, could use a space heater.

Watch out ordering a "large" margarita... make sure your server understands what you mean so you don't end up with a $12 bucket full of mixer with 3 tequila shots in it. Tasted terrible, looked ridiculous.
Having said that, best Mexican food in Jacksonville IL. Reminds me of the corner taco joints back in Texas, fast service, good flavors, lots of good choices.

Sister and I met up in Jacksonville, Illinois instead of driving 8 hours one way to visit each other. We were hungry and decided to scope out the town. Found this small gem of a place adjacent to a Fast Stop gas station/truck stop on the far west side of town near Walmart. Food was the best. I had a skillet appetizer of sizzling hot melted cheese with chorizo to dip my chips. Menu is very large and diverse. Has a well stocked bar with delightful drinks. Even has a vegetarian section. I had the fried ice cream for dessert. When we got back to the hotel, we found out the locals call it their favorite Mexican place. Going to go back again in August!!!
