Terrific breakfast with my wife here. Place is kept clean and has a very friendly and attentive staff. Left feeling completely satisfied, " you won't leave hungry". So good we''ll definitely be back to try lunch and dinner.

First time impression says it all Read about Linda's in the paper and had no idea it was this close to work. Decided to stop in for lunch. Lots of parking, very clean, lots of room and service was above par. Had the meatloaf and it does taste home made. Breakfast served all day so can not wait to bring my wife here for lunch. Prices are very reasonable and the servings are big enough.

Great service, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Best part is they serve breakfast all day. I'm still making my way though the menu but my personal favorite is the Shrimp and Grits, the Philly and Chicken Philly are yummy.

We had breakfast on Sunday at Linda's wooden spoon. It's the best breakfast in Jacksonville. From the prices to the quality of food. She uses the best quality of food products from the bacon to the biscuits it's top quality. How many restaurants use homemade hollandaise? There's not many. You feel like family at the restaurant.

I am a regular at Linda's. I usually go for breakfast but not exclusively. Their hamburgers are to die for. I thought I would never find a homemade tasting hamburger outside of my kitchen until a friend turned me to Linda's Wooden Spoon. Next stop? Those grits and shrimp look mighty delicious!!! I believe they are calling my name!!!!

I had the daily special and had as one of my sides Linda's fried zucchini. Lightly breaded with corn meal and served hot and crispy. The best I have ever eaten!

This past weekend, April 1st to be exact, my husband and I got married in Callahan Florida. We used Linda's Wooden Spoon for both our happy hour and reception of our wedding and let's just say that the food and service was phenomenal. Linda was present at our event and made sure that everything was up to par just like in her restaurant. Many of the guests have mentioned to us that the food we had at our wedding was amazing and it is all thanks to Mrs. Linda and her wonderful team. The food at a wedding can be the make it or brake it for most guests and let us just say that the food provided by Linda's Wooden Spoon exceeded our expectations. We would recommend Linda's Wooden Spoon to everyone for any and all catering needs you may have!!

My father likes comfort food, so we were trying to find a simple dinner place while he and his wife were visiting Jax. My husband found a very good review from the newspaper for this place, and it is in our neighborhood. I am always excited to try new places and support local businesses, so we tried it for dinner around 8 pm on a Friday night. We recognized the location instantly - in the past it was an Indian restaurant located in front of what used to be "the Skate Place" when my husband was growing up (Arlington and Atlantic). The interior of the restaurant was bright and fresh- crisp white paint, clean white ceilings, uniform tables and chairs, a few pictures of silverware on the walls, and the "wooden spoon" - a large wooden spoon the restaurant is named after. There was only one other couple in the restaurant, so it was very quiet and relaxing. My father, who has trouble hearing, was actually happy to be able to hear conversation! The waitress was very attentive and sweet. We had questions about the menu which she answered honestly - favorites with diners, what she liked, etc. My husband is picky about grits, and was waffling between the shrimp and grits and the country fried steak. She brought out a sample of the grits for him to try. She said both entrees were customer favs. I went with the shrimp and grits and a biscuit for my bread choice, Paul tried the country fried steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and garlic bread. Dad had an egg and cheese sandwich on rye. Pat ordered the grilled chicken strips with two sides. The waitress quickly brought out our waters, and refilled our waters throughout the evening. She also let Pat know they were out of chicken strips so Pat changed her order to scrambled eggs, ham and home fries. The orders came out quickly, and while the serving sizes were not huge they were perfectly portions especially considering the menu prices. I really enjoyed the shrimp and grits, and though the waitress did a great job describing it - full of chunky strips of red peppers, onions, shrimp and ground sausage over grits, it was very flavorful without being too spicy and the grits were cooked right - creamy and cooked correctly, a nice smooth creamy texture which nicely contrasted with the vegetables and shrimp. Paul said his country steak was good - not a huge slice, but combined with the sides and bread he was satisfied. The white gravy was plain, but worked well with the steak. The waitress brought him a side of the brown gravy for his potatoes, so he used both sauces and enjoyed them. Dad and Pat said they enjoyed their food, and would definitely come back. It was much cleaner than the diner we tried for lunch, and the contrast in service and atmosphere was striking. Pat said it was the least amount they had spent on dinner in years, and they were stuffed and satisfied. Paul and I definitely hope to return here and try more entrees. Thanks for the good food and service!

A friend and I stopped by picked up menu. Hubby and I came back for lunch. She came next day for breakfast. We all loved it. They post special of the day on dry erase board. My only suggestion is post picture of this board to face book for people that follow. We have all been back. Great addition to our out to eat menu !

Awesome food and nice people. Never seen it busy though. Best scotch eggs I've ever had.

The service and food were both excellent. I was ready to go back for the next meal. :)

We came here on Mothers Day, and though they were really busy we still received good service. I had the Scotch Eggs and the hubby had breakfast in a sack (with mayo added). We were both very please with everything. This is a down-home sort of family owned restaurant with good, southern style food. We will definitely be back! Better here than a Cracker Barrel!

The spoon was awesome! From the Mason Jars to the chicken and waffles! Real good time. Will definitely return! Service on point, and don't mind accommodating request. AWESOME!

If you are looking for Hipster or Trendy this is not your place, but if your interest is a clean, comfortable place to have a well cooked basic breakfast served by friendly, efficient people this is it.  Always on the lookout for a non chain restaurant in the Arlington area, Linda’s hit my radar and that meant a road trip. Not a big breakfast person I was hoping for something to enjoy and did I hit the mother load, well for me.

A great place to eat! Food is really good and "home style" cooking. Growing, it is worth it for sure. Establishing their routines and volumes. Very clean, wonderful staff and crew, Wish dinner was available, soon we're told. Recommend it, go, visit, sit a spell...
