Don't come here unless you are hungry. I had the Reuben on a sub, but for a smaller portion get the round. Blue boy is nothing fancy but if you want a good sandwich at a good price rid is the place to go. While waiting for my meal someone had ordered the monster burger, it is appropriately named, and can easily feed 4. I'll definitely be back
As soon as I got out the car and walked to the front door, I smelled excellence. Stepped in the building and couldn't decide what I wanted cause their entire menu looked enticing so I asked the cashier and she recommended their bestseller, the #8 Steak. The aroma filled the car on the drive to the crib. Sat down, opened the wrapper and a behemoth stared me in my face. This sandwich was huge!!! The bread was soft, the flavors were addicting and the sandwich was still hot as if I ordered it and dined in. If you like sandwiches and don't give this spot a visit, you're doing yourself an injustice.
Monster sandwiches. The bullet: Food-A,Service-B,Price-A,Vibe-B. Only come if you're hungry! I kid you not, we were there with about 30 other working folks and I didn't see a single one of them finish their sandwich. Crazy good and fresh. We ordered the Super Club and it will feed us twice.

As a jax native and sandwich lover I feel that Blue Boys has the best sandwiches in town. Even after i moved away, i have to get a blue boy sammich when i visit.
This is the best place EVER!!. Where do i begin?? My mom has been going to this place since she was a little girl and has passed on the tradition to us. My mom passed away this year at the age of 55, but we would frequent this place every chance we could. The #8 Steak sub add hot peppers is to die for! this is what we get everytime we come and have never been disappointed! I will pass on the tradition of eating here to my kids as well!
Iate here 25 years ago and still eat here. The sandwiches are large and incharge , enough food for two or three meals . The french fries are crinkle cut and fried to perfection . Gets crowded at lunch but worth the wait and the drive
Good food - not so good hours. If this restaurant stayed open more hours - a common issue with the downtown establishments - I would say this restaurant is downright fantastic.
Now THAT'S a sammich!. Grab one of the round sandwiches if you're looking to eat a little on the lighter side, but the real Blue Boy experience comes in a sandwich the size of a football! Served on their own fresh bread, a large sandwich is a serious meal. Plan on taking some home with you.
My particular favorite is their club sandwich, which is simply HUGE. The steak and cheese is also excellent, and they even serve equally-impressive breakfast sandwiches as well.
A very unique Jacksonville original, Blue Boy is a must-try for any lover of the venerable, simple and delicious sammich!
I have so many memories of this place.I haven't been here in years and nothing about the warm and welcoming feeling changed. People are still wonderful and the food is still the same as I remember. Bread is different, still good. Truly a historical part of this town and great example of our city. Next visit will be soon, guaranteed! I got the turkey, ham and cheese (no tomatoes) and he got the monster burger.

Just had the most delightful experience at Blue Boy Sandwich Shop, and I couldn't wait to share it with everyone! This place has that perfect old-fashioned flair, and the staff is as friendly as can be.

I'm glad I found this place! It was hard to rate because the food is FANTASTIC and well priced, but there are many management flaws too. First off, I placed my order online and had trouble with the parking so that gave them about 25 minutes for my sandwich. I had to wait inside an additional 30 minutes. Even that is too long to wait if I had just walked in and placed an order. It's a small, quaint joint but filled with people anxious because their whole lunch break was over and still no food. The service was good but they were confused and unorganized. People were waiting for a long time and many people came in and left. They could REALLY benefit from a professional analyzing and reorganizing the process. Now the food! HUGE portions - pay for one "regular" sandwich at about 16 bucks and get 4 small sandwiches! (see picture) I ordered a reuben. They make their own bread and it was delicious. I got a side of fries and their cherry limeade. They have the GOOD crunchy ice, and free refills. (You'll need it as you wait and wait and wait.) The fries were good. I'd go back when they weren't so busy but don't make the mistake of using your lunch break for this.
Really cool old Jacksonville landmark with incredible food. It does take a bit of time to get your food but everything from the bread to the toppings are made fresh and to order so it’s 100% worth it! Staff were friendly and the dining room was clean. I will definitely return.
Chicken Bacon Ranch is fabulous. I got it grilled. You can also get it fried. It comes as a sub or a “round” (think sandwich). Service was great, food is great. Glad I found it.
Few things live up to their hype, but Blue Boy did not disappoint.
I had the Super Club and it was so large that I had four meals with it. The bread is heavenly. It is soft and doughy with a beautifully baked crust. The ingredients are top notch with the freshest vegetables being used and high quality meats.
The staff is pleasant and eager to please. Good things take time, so don't mind the wait. It is well worth it. The atmosphere inside is a bit dingy, but you might as well get it to go because you are going to have so much leftover.

Ive heard about this shop and it's been on my list of places to go. Finally got the chance and it didn't disappoint. Lives up to the hype. Massive sandwiches at a great price! I got the ultimate club for $15 and it legitimately can feed a family of 4. It's huge!! The portions are great but the quality of the meats and sandwiches are great as well. Very tasty and will definitely be ordering again.
Ms. Karen took my order! She was very professional and displayed superior customer service etiquette! Unfortunately I ordered my meal and opted to wait for my drinks … they ran out of sweet tea before I received mine.
Mr. Patrick was kind and immediately gave me a refund.
The food quantity was more than sufficient & oh my goodness!!! The monster burger was mouthwatering, extremely large, and worth the monies spent!
Lastly, the steak n cheese sub was very good and I have decided that I will no longer go anywhere else for one!
