Fast and fresh Hovan is a great choice for a quick lunch, hearty dinner or takeout meal.
We went with a group of five and our food was served fast and everything was delicious.
We tried a couple of appetizers, sandwiches and some vegan options as well and nothing disappointed.
My only complaint if you can call it one is I would have liked to see some lunch specials as the menu is relatively pricey for a quick lunch. Not unusual for the Riverside neighborhood.
Worth a visit! Would definitely go again.

I ordered catering from Hovan for my mother's 75th birthday - gyro, chicken kabob's, turkey hovan sandwiches', and spanakopita. Everything was super tasty & everyone loved it. The staff was also amazing, I am injured and they helped me take the items out to my car & load them. Couldn't recommend them more! Food was also ready on time but still warm & ready to serve.

How have I never written a review for Hovan? We have been ordering here for maybe 10+ years. This is the best Middle-Eastern/Mediterranean food on this side of town. Highly recommended! Always fresh and delicious!!

Excellent food and wonderful, consistent service. Gyros and desserts always on point. I specifically come here for the lamb gyro but the vegan gyro might be slightly better.

Great place for quick Mediterranean food, everything was freshly made. I have been there a couple of times so far and everything I tried was pretty good, from the hummus and tabouli to the chicken salad and gyro. The staff were very nice and friendly and the food prices were great for the area. If you are in the San Marco 5 points area this is the place to stop by for a quick healthy snack.

Went here two times back to back. The food was sooooo flavorful and delicious. I said I was going to try something different but that gyro was PHENOMENAL. I'm posting pics from two separate trips. The Gyro hands down the best I've had in the city. The Mediterranean salad is fresh and tasty.... that pasta salad.... I could eat it every day. Workers are kind and the restaurant is very clean.
My only problem is when ordering online they will prepare your food long before your requested pick up time. Both times i ordered, i received notification my order was ready 20 mins ahead of my pickup time. So consider ordering when you're close otherwise your order will be sitting.
All in all great experience and I look forward to trying other items

Hovan is a Jacksonville standard of excellence in high quality delicious and fresh Mediterranean food. I recently enjoyed a Lamb Gyro with Baba Ghanoush on the side. Simply outstanding! The restaurant and bathrooms are always impeccably clean and the owners and staff are always friendly and gracious. I also love the pastrami Hovan Roll. I’ll keep coming back!

To tell you the truth I was expecting something different from the place itself. However, we loved it. The food is great, the gyro OMG! delicious. Great vegan options as well. We will definitely be back for more.

I loved Hovans. My party consisted of five. Three of which are sort of picky eaters with one being a vegan. Everyone loved it. We had three chicken shawarmas, one chicken kabob, and one vegan gyro. We also had multiple baklava. We loved everything. The service was great and friendly staff. My husband and I will be back again.
