Review St. Mary's Seafood And More - Jacksonville

I have found my new favorite seafood place, and it was 5 minutes away the whole time!! Moved nearby two years ago and never noticed the building! Tucked in next to Taco Bell and Hobby Lobby, St Mary's Seafood and More is a real treasure. I'm so used to generic seafood and deep overfried everything, I had lost a lot of faith in seafood places since I left New England years ago. I have been shown the light again! :) Its not hard to access once you learn the pattern. The atmosphere is very "hometown restaurant" kind of feel with a bright disposition, and good touches of decor to keep it feeling warm. The staff were all very friendly with our server (in photo!) being and absolute gem with courtesy and attentiveness. Now, down to the food. Hush puppies were hot, fresh, and done right. The clam chowder had that wonderful homemade texture and taste with the spice pallet just right. Very nice. My wife and I split the platter for one, and let me tell you, that was a LOT of food for one. Clams, oysters, scallops, deviled crab, shrimp, and fish. The scallops and fish were blackened at the recommendation of our server and boy was she spot on. Great. Scallops were perfect and not overdone. Deviled crab in the shell was a real treat for a Chesapeake Bay boy like myself. Very nice. The oysters and clams were breaded, but VERY thin to provide a wonderful coating without hiding the wonderful seafood inside. Heck, even the sweet tea was done right. My new fav seafood restaurant is under five minutes from my house. I'm a happy boy. We were there a bit earlier, before 5pm. They were setting up for some live music and the atmosphere was growing but in a very friendly kind of way. Thank you St Mary's Seafood & More for a great meal and a new spot to frequent. :)

St Mary’s Seafood is a great place to grab some seafood. The prices are good and the portion sizes are also very good. They staff is also very friendly. I usually get the clams or oysters, and my mom usually gets the platter. Both usually come with so much we always have leftovers to take home. Definitely worth the visit if you like seafood.

As you enter this place. You are meet with smiles from the greeters to the server. We were seated fast. Our server Brittany was a delight. She suggested the collar greens ( thanks Brittany)with our platter for 2. We had coleslaw,fries, applesauce and greens. Them greens are fresh cut NOT that can stuff and is seasoned perfect with the meat in them. Now lets talk about this platter for 2. The fish fresh,scallops fresh, clams fresh. I swear there is a garden and a lake near by. The portion sides are great. There is more then enough for 2. (I needed a togo bag) I have no complaints here. My hat off to the cooks and kitchen crew. Perfect. ONE MORE THING the restrooms smell fresh and are clean.

The shrimp were really good and fresh. The booth seats need to be redone. The one we sat at had a sunken spot in it, and they are so low it made me feel like I was super old. I had to push myself up. The saving grace was that the food was good and the restroom was clean and smelled good. The salad bar could use a little work.

Simply great seafood reasonably priced! Same great place I remember going to in St. Mary's, Georgia many years ago! I am happy to see that it has expanded to Jacksonville and is thriving!

This was our 2nd time here, our kids wanted to go here so they could color the fish picture 😆 we really enjoy the food here, love the fried pickles they're kosher dills! The kids meal is big with a nice portion of fish so they can share it. The side vegetables are always super delicious. The fish is cooked perfectly & it's nice breading. I have have enjoyed everything but I don't recommend the mussels. I did not like the sauce they were in at all, it was way to strong with herbs & a weird tangy taste. It was too concentrated . I expected just a nice simple garlic white wine broth. That's all you need for mussels. Nice homemade breadsticks though.

This place always delivers amazing food. The staff is happy, pleasant and pro-active! The fish and other food items always come out hot and fresh! Super awesome that they often offer live, yet casual music on Thursday’s and Saturday’s. (noise level appropriate of course!). Great family-oriented place, very welcoming, and family-owned business in the community. The bartender “Hanan” is the best! She always grabs your glass as soon as it’s empty!

Met with family members for dinner and wait staff was very good. Our food selections were taken. We enjoyed our drinks, while our food was being prepared. Our waiter brought us our food and refilled our drinks and checked on us during our meal. We enjoyed our meal No live music was provided,like on our previous visit.

Try the fried Alligator tails!! You will find purses, shoes and clothing are not all it’s good for! Make sure they don’t fry your oysters to death! If they do simply let them know and they will kindly fry more! Hush puppies are good but they don’t give you a lot. Their tartar sauce tastes very good.

I loved the fried green tomatoes and the homemade ranch was so awesome. The shrimps was great and Hanan and Louie where the best waitress, and waiter ever. They’re awesome they’re friendly make you feel at home they take good care of you and the food is delicious. I will definitely be back soon. My friend got a seafood platter and she loved it all.

Came here tonight since Chili's was packed. Seated at a large booth in the back. We had two kids and two adults. I ordered the butterfly shrimp with fries and onion rings as a premium side for a 2.99 upcharge. We also ordered hush puppies. The other adult in my party ordered coconut shrimp with a baked potato and dirty rice. My shrimp was good. I loved the seasonings on them. The french fries weren't salted so they were a bit bland. But some ketchup made them better. The onion rings were also bland. The breading was sweet. Which was odd to me. The hush puppies were bland too. I was pretty disappointed about that. My party said they didn't care for the breading on their coconut shrimp since it kept slipping off where they encountered bread, oil, and then the shrimp. The server, Drew, was okay. He told us the hush puppies were only 1.99 though but they ended up being 2.99. If you don't know a price, don't guess, just say so or get a menu. I'd like to try again at a future date to see if it's any better.

It is a great place to eat super fresh and delicious steak, perfectly done. Everything was hot and fresh. Didn't care for fried mushrooms they were just bits and pieces, would have preferred whole mushrooms instead of pieces.

Our waitress, Bri, was really great. The food is so good here. I got the blackened scallops with coleslaw and cheesy grits. The scallops were cooked just right and had a good spice. My husband got the Buffalo shrimp, which had a LOT of sauce, might get less next time. And the hush puppies were good too.

This was our first time eating at St.. Mary's Seafood. The food was excellent and the service was just as good. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the daily specials and menu items. Would definitely eat here again when we visit or pass through Jacksonville.

This place was absolutely superb!!! The customer service was fantastic!!!!!!!!! Alex is the best server I've ever had ☝🏾 The food was A++. Big portions. Affordable pricing. So glad I chose to have dinner there! Can't wait to go back!!

A very busy place with parking that can be a challenge 4 ⭐. Once inside were greeted by the nicest employees 5 ⭐. A short 15 minute wait was ok and would not have happened had we called ahead for a reservation. Service was good but took several minutes to get our drinks so 4 ⭐. Bill's Double vodka was a good value at $7.00 during Happy Hour from 4-7pm. Ordered dinner right away. We started with the Lobster Crab Bisque for $9.99 would have been good if it had some chunks of Lobster or Crab so 3 ⭐ overpriced for the value. I ordered the mixed 3 asking to sub Crab Cakes for me my 3rd item adding $3.00 to the cost. Order came out grilled but soooo much pepper and seasoning that it kills the taste of the fish 🐠. I asked if the baked potato was stuffed...told it would cost an additional $3.99 for scallions, butter and sour cream...are they kidding??? What surprised me is it came with sour cream and butter at no additional charges...glad we decided against it. In addition no side salad unless you want to pay another $3.99. This was at best. 4 ⭐ meal. Bill ordered the Flounder, Shrimp special which was ok $22.99 but one of his Hush puppies was under cooked and still raw dough in the middle so 4 ⭐. Bill's cream spinach side was ok but a bit watery so again 4 ⭐. They do give a military discount so be sure you ask.

I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. I have tried the 2 combo platter twice. Fried shrimp and blackened scallops. amazing!! The price is right...serving size perfect. Comes with 2 sides. Wide variety of drink menu too. Service is friendly.

My husband and I visited this restaurant this afternoon and although we were somewhat pleased with the food we were not pleased with the service. Our waiter took our drink and appetizer order and we basically never saw him again afterwards. He never came back to take our food order. After walking past us several times we stopped him and ask him if he could take our order and he told us he was busy with another customer. After walking past us another few times we decided to cash out and leave. We were in restaurant for 30 mins and never got our order placed. It was no where near busy. The manager was very nice and apologized for our experience. We are now heading to find dinner somewhere else. 😐

This place had really good food. The service was awesome. The server moved a little slow but it didn't matter. She was pleasant and the food came out quicker than we expected. Please note. The platter for two is really a platter for 3-4. And I am a big man! Will definitely return again.

We heard so much about this place last Sunday how could we not check it out. They did not dissappoint at all. The service and the meal was Awsome. My only complaint is that the delicious freshly made deviled crab needed more crab but they were still very delicious. Everything was as it should be in a Seafood Restaurant in a costal city, Fresh Hot and Abundant! All I can say is It's Fresh Florida Seafood done right. Yummy!

Sometime, it can be a good thing to strike off on your own, like I did today.  You get to pick the place with out debate, about distance, food type, cost, you can go where the road takes you.  The road took me into Mandarin area today, on an Asian food quest.  One of my favorite spots is on St Augustine Rd. on the way I spotted the sign for St Mary’s Seafood and More so I  immediately had a change of plans.  I did know their first restaurant  is St Mary’s Ga and this sister restaurant piqued my curiosity.

My son and I had a late lunch there today.  This was our first time and we found the  food was excellent, freshly prepared and hot upon arrival at our table.  Even though our waitress was new, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was the same as any fine dining establishment.  I feel sure with these standards they will enjoy a prosperous New Year.

I would like to start by saying I have never eaten in this restaurant and never will. I called to make a reservation for a party of 10 that includes 2 elderly and disabled family members. After speaking to Robert the Manager, and later found out the Owner as well, i was told that "company policy" is not to take reservations on Friday or Saturday. I explained that we had the 2 elderly and disabled members in the party but that did not seem to matter where "company policy" were concerned. I was told that they were very busy those days and we would have to come and wait if we wanted to eat in their restaurant. After calling the other location in Georgia I received the same response from that manager as well. all i can conclude from this interaction with the management of these restaurants is they do not care for their customers or how they are treated. Money is their primary goal and sole concern. Please join my family in boycotting this restaurant. Also the last health inspection yielded 18 violations check it out for yourself

The food is ok. The service was good. The people were getto around us. Really ruins the atmosphere of the place. I feel bad for the establishment.

We got to Mary's at 345 pm on a Friday.  We were seated immediately, waited only a short time for the waitress, Angela to get our drinks.  We placed our order and it was on our table in less than 10 minutes.  Angela is a great waitress and we will be asking for her the next time we eat at Mary's.  The only drawback -- they have Pepsi products and not Coke.  I prefer Diet Coke and not Pepsi.  Food was really good.  We will be going back for sure

Great food at a great price.  The raw oysters are HUGE !!  I'm talking 2X the size of a normal FL/LA oyster....the best deal on the menu.<br/><br/>there pick 2 is great value for lunch & dinner.  always great eating the next day.

Love this restraunt!!!. Went here for my first time on Saturday. The wait was only 15 minutes and the hostess staff was very friendly even though they were extremely busy. After about one short minute of being seated, our waitress Amanda greeted us. She asked if we had ever dined before there and upon realizing we hadn't she thoroughly explained the menu and suggested us to try crab cakes for an appetizer. They were delicious. We weren't really sure how to get our food prepared, my husband and I normally just stick with fried. We split a platter plate. The broiled shrimp was amazing and we got our scallops blackened upon her reccomendation. Only complaint was that I felt I needed a wheelchair to get out of there because I ate so much food (this was my own fault). She even took the time to box up our leftovers for making sure we had everything we needed. All while managing her other tables just as attentively. I wait tables so I love when I go out and get exceptional service. Food was awesome ( alot for a great price), not a long wait, service was superb ( will definatley request Amanda when I return) , and the atmosphere was upbeat, friendly, and clean.

Sharon. Very inflexible restaurant. No at all accommodating to any kind of change on the menu no matter how small. Food was mediocre. Service was good. I don't believe we will go back.

YUMMY!. The hubby and I went here for dinner tonight (May 11, 2015). We had always wanted to try this place, but kept forgetting about it, it's in Mandarin, we live in Argyle. Well, we will be back! It was delicious!! We ordered the platter for 2, it should have read platter for 4!! We brought home two take out boxes of seafood! The clam strips were probably the most tender, tasty clam strips I've ever eaten! The scallops and shrimp were large and juicy! We did not care for the hush puppies or coleslaw, but the fries and fried mushrooms were delicious! Our waitress was attentive and was excited when she asked if we had been there before and we said no. She began to tell us all about the food and knew a lot about the food. She was very nice and kept our drinks filled! We will be back.....but we'll bring the kids next time to help eat all that food! :)

Fast for a reason..... Service was fast, but not good or personal. 3 people at the host stand, not one smiled. Server was very methodical, not friendly at all...just going through the motions. One of my sides didn't come out with my food and when she did bring it out later she just threw it on the table in passing. Most of the food was processed and frozen. Deviled crap was made with fake Krab and not very good. Stuffed flounder was super greasy and just not good.

We waited for 20 minutes to be seated, after that, one waitress came up to take our drink order and after she took it, another waitress came up and said she had our table, after the mix up we waited for an hour to get our food only to find out it was messed up when we got it. Asked for a loaded baked potato, got a regular potato, asked for 2 fried okras, got only one,no one ever came over to refill my drink and overall it was very dirty, the employees had dirty clothes, definitely not coming back here again..

Worst meal ever. Went for lunch on may 4th to celebrate my daughters birthday....worst experience ever....waitress was rude, my burger was burnt....i was not gonna tip her...she was lucky my husband was with me....that was the only way she got a tip. i work in the food business and am a server...if a customer even gives a hint something is wrong, i am groveling to make it better for the customer, our waitress gave me the impression she could not give a rats but what we thought....will i be going back NO...do not recommend this place

Great food & Service. Our first visit was a great experience! Our server JENNIFER was awesome. Great seafood and you WILL NOT leave hungry for sure. Huge portions at reasonable prices. They also have a nice Land Lover menu for those of us who don't care for seafood. Great HUSHPUPPIES

AWESOME!. The wait time was a little long, but it was well worth it. We had a party of nine and were easily accommodated. Our waitress Jennifer did a phenomenal job. I ordered the platter for 1 (I LOVE SEAFOOD s saying a lot from a foodie.

Awesome Fried Fish. I have not had fish this good since I was in Calabash North Carolina and the fried okra is even better than my mom used to make. My new favorite place to eat!! I have been there three times in two weeks and will try to make it more often. Linda Grady

Best Seafood in Mandarin. Living in Mandarin we have limited choices on Seafood restaurants. This place opened about a year ago and it hasn't failed me yet. The food is always fresh and hot. The service is top notch and the prices are fair. I always leave full with extra to take home.

Was great when they first opened, but the last few meals have disappointed.. My first few visits to this restaurant were terrific. The portions were great, seafood was fresh, and the homemade sides were delicious. It's a bit pricey given that it's not a high-end restaurant (mostly fried foods), but the price was worth it due to the satisfying portions and quality of food. <br/><br/>I've eaten there several times since, and the portions and quality have declined on each subsequent visit. It almost feels like a bait and switch. The last few meals I've eaten there I've finished everything on my plate and was left feeling like I could have ordered more. The scallops in my last meal were definitely not fresh, and I don't think I'll be eating here again.<br/><br/>This is the first restaurant review I've ever felt the need to post. It's not that it's the worst restaurant I've eaten at, it's just that I was happy at first to have a local restaurant with decent seafood and good portions. I didn't mind paying the premium for this reason. Now that they've clearly scaled back in those areas, I'd just assume visit one of the many other restaurants where I can get a much more satisfying meal for twenty bucks. And by the way, I mentioned this to a few of my friends who I've eaten there with in the past and they said they've noticed the same decline in quality since our earlier visits.

Delicious. I have eaten there many times and the food is always fresh and delicious! Service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend it!

What makes it best...that it is locally owned and operated, not some national chain who doesn't care about the community! thank you for a great experience every visit.

Best seafood in jax area. Honestly, we don't have that many seafood restaurant's around Mandarin and I absolutely love the food. Everything I have eaten so far has been the best. I could eat there everyday! lol

Great Seafood and Portions! Not the best managing staff.... Food was good, best seafood in the area! Portions (God Bless America) was plentiful. Put a tear to my eye because it's dying at so many GOOD restaurants. Heather our server was great to me and my family. Catherine, the Hostess handled calls wonderfully and our reservation. My only gripe was the managing staff. Shook Nick's hand, the owner, and I was trying to be as pleasant as possible. Opening suggestions, about service, and adding variety to the food service. (Fresher and more flavorful and thicker Cocktail sauce using less vinegar and more horseradish. Also, a local delicacy Datil Pepper Sauce.) His (I assume) wife, and the other waitresses were open to my suggestions. He didn't care for it. When I talked to a random worker, rating the managing staff. They said a three. What I rated my review. Because to have great service, with great workers, food and a happy environment. It all starts with the managing staff, and I was defiantly not impressed with my interaction with Nick. I will return in hope that this will soon be fixed.

Great experience. The food was excellent, service very good. Portions are really big; and many choices on the menu. We will be going back and making this our regular place to get good seafood! Highly recommended.

Seafood was good, sides were lacking. We made a reservation for a party of 5. It was good we did, especially on a Sunday afternoon since it was crowded. They honored that on time. The food was pretty good. I say that because the sides that we got that were upgrades weren't as good or flavorful as the sides that came with the meal. The fried green tomatoes, fried mushrooms and grilled Mahi didn't have much flavor at all. The fried pickles appetizer was really lacking.They need to go with a different brand. A person in my party for blackened Mahi and loaded potato and it was great! My husband got a seafood platter for 1 and I tried his oysters, which were really good for this time of year. I ordered a Caramel, pecan cheesecake to go and it was great! Our waitress was a good one. I can't remember the little blonde's name.

Best food ever. I loved everything about this place. I love the family and love the food. They make you feel like family and make sure you leave there fool.

Portion size. My wife and I ordered the platter for two; it was enough to feed four easily. We had ours fried, which at other restaurants sometimes comes out greasy and oily, here the food was prepared very well. Though fried it was still light on the palette. The staff was exceedingly nice and courteous. I highly recommend that you try this place.

Finally a great seafood place for Jax!. We came here for Father's Day with 28 people. We read reviews on the place and heard very good things, which were all very true! We showed up with 17 people at first and they immediately accommodated us. Joseph and I think his name was Scott were our servers and they were excellent! They kept checking on us repeatedly and kept us smiling. They sold us on the butterfly shrimp special which was plenty of food for only 12$!!! We also had two sides which included sweet potato casserole which was very good! We got to order food quickly while we waiting on the other guests and as soon as they arrived they were accommodated immediately. Their portions were more than enough and for 28 people, the bill was very exceptional. So glad we have a local place that won't break our pockets and that we know will be enjoyable from service to the food quality. We will back very soon!

Great meal at a great price......seafood galore. We visited the restaurant for the 1st time and the food was great. very busy and you need a reservation on the weekends. specials every day they told us and a bar special also....seafood comes several different ways but the most imortant for me was the fact that the fride foods were "golden brown" and not g r e a z y..........(((' ; ' )<br/>we will go back for more seafood.

Best Seafood in Mandarin. Definitely go here. Everything is awesome and a great value for the quality and amount of food. The portions are large enough to share in most cases. If you like large great meals - this place is for you.

Great Food!. I eat here a minimum of once a week,(lunch & dinner), love the food, great portions,great service. Have enjoyed taking team members from work to eat here and everyone raved about the food. In fact going there for lunch tomorrow. Am very surprised to read any negative reviews. So thankful we now have a great seafood restaurant in the neighborhood.

St. Marys Seafood & more Old St Augustine Rd Jax, Fl. Mushy shrimp, tasteless cole slaw, Onion Rings straight out a bag. You got me once, I want be back<br/>one time is enough... you need to go to Schooners and taste what seafood is really like

Side Orders. The shrimp is the same you will get at St. Johns Seafood but the sides are not very good. The Mac n Cheese is really bad. I think they should give you one trip to the salad bar for one of the sides. My wife and I have tried almost all of the sides and they suck.

Awful smell. The food isn't bad, a little on the greasy side. But the first thing you'll notice before you make it to the front door is the rotten stench coming from the nearby dumpster that permeates the air around the building. It was a total turn off and then it hits you again when you leave on a full stomach. It makes one wonder about how clean the place really is when the whole property gives off that putrid odor.

My family loved the food but were disappointed by the owner/managers. We ordered top shelf margaritas with sugar. Instead, they put season salt on the rim. When it was brought to their attention, they became defensive and unapologetic. I think his name was Richard even rolled his eyes at us as if we had insulted him. The servers and other patrons even looked embarrassed by his tone. As much as we liked the food, we will never go back.

I had the butterfly shrimp for $8.99 and it was great. I was surprised at how good and plentiful the sides were (I got the cheese grits and Mac n' cheese). My only complaint is that they don't have Coca Cola products but Pepsi instead. I'll definitely come back.

Friends' dinner. We were visiting friends in Jacksonville and they suggested that we try your restaurant instead of going to our other seafood favorite. We were not disappointed at all. The portions were very generous and the service was excellent. We live in South Carolina and I wish you had a restaurant there. The shrimp and grouper were terrific!<br/>Five stars to you, the chef and the waiters.<br/>Satisfied in S.C.

Food Great, Service not so much. I see many reviews about how the food is great...and it is and came out fast, fresh and hot as advirtised by many other reviews. But the service was terrible...maybe it was just a bad day by everyone working there...except for one waitress who didn't act like we were bothering her by actually eating at the restaurant. <br/><br/>We had 20 people come out for lunch and although we had called 3 weeks earlier, they were unaware we were coming. No big deal, at least you would think so. It started with the manager and I guess the rest of the staff just followed his lead. He made a big deal about "accomodating" us in what was pretty much an empty restaurant at 11 a.m. <br/><br/>Although there were 4 other waitresses we could see standing around up front, they gave us just one waiter to serve the 20 of us. When we asked the manager for an additional server, he was pretty rude about how he would "get around to it."<br/><br/>Our organization has 450 members who all live in Mandarin and just a small group of us decided to come out to try it for a future luncheon. We'll have to weigh the good food against the rude service and decide if we take our business somewhere else.

Bring your mamma if you want to!. I've eaten here 7 times and everytime it's the same. I always get surrounded by great people and wonderful service! I never had to ask where's my food or may I have a refill. Although they have a delightful family atmosphere. Think twice before you invite your mother because the food is so good you might just slap her in the face.

Great food!. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Very involved management. Manager walking restaurant greeting and checking on tables. Food was very good. Hot and fresh, reasonably priced seafood. Platter for one was very good and had enough for leftovers. Shrimp dinner was nice fresh and sufficient. Kids menu was perfect. Oysters, Oysters, Oysters. By far the freshest and tasty seafood around... As you can guess from the title I had Oysters and they were fresh, clean, sweet and fantastic... I also had their Seafood Alfredo which was out of this world... The atmosphere is cool, modern and casual...The staff from this family owned business was very friendly made me feel at home... They were very attentive to my needs ensuring that I was greeted right away and that my experience was world class... When I ate here I sat at the bar and let me tell you they are really knowledgeable about their spirits.... I tried some new beers and whiskeys that were suggested that I never had before....To the end, I will be coming back and anyone that wants great food you must stop in... You won't be disappointed....

Food was okay. Gator tail was warm, but more breading than gator tail. Service was great, food was okay. Not our first choice for seafood in the future.

Tonight was my first time at St. Mary's, I give it 9/10I had the mussels and shrimp scampi. The mussels came in abundance as did the scampi, nothing was held back. I must have had about 20 mussels for my appetizer the white butter and wine sauce is to die for. The shrimp scampi was prepared for a king. I will be going for more.

AMAZING. Knowing if you go out on a Friday or Saturday evening you are going to have to wait... The wait is MORE than worth it! My husband and I only waited about 20 minutes till we saw an opening at the bar... Right away we were greeted by the bartender, She was very tall with long dark hair believe her name was Kasey. Her drinks were right on point and ordered the Ahi Tuna appetizer while we waited for our dinner. Sitting at the bar you see everything... The entire staff works as a team which you don't see to often. They are always smiling and joking no matter how busy or crazy it gets. Once our food arrived it was more than enough, normally fried food is greasy and that's all you can taste but not in this case as the Pick 2 with Fish & Shrimp Fried was to die for. My husband had the Stuffed Flounder that just fell apart in your mouth it was so good. Kasey made sure to never let our drinks run low, not sure if she is the head bartender but she made sure everyone at the bar had been served and if they were enjoying their meals. We will be back for more!

EXCELLENT food, and excellent service! Went for lunch and the potions were more than plenty and prices were great for what you get! Definitely going back!

Just had an impromptu group lunch (20 people). Everything was amazing! Everyone's food was out quick, hot and large tasty portions! Service staff was fantastic and over accommodating! I am afraid this place will soon be slammed for lunch and dinner. We will all be back OFTEN!

Have been for lunch and dinner during weekday. Food is good. Waitresses are good. However, be prepared to wait at minimum an hour for cooks to prepare your food.

Worth a try. Food was pretty good, service was decent. I had the Boom Boom shrimp with Mac and cheese and green beans. The green beans were amazing and obviously fresh, the shrimp were very good. My husband got the Fried Grouper sandwich with fries and coleslaw. He really liked the sandwich, but was a little disappointed in the fries. Pretty sure they were from a freezer bag. The couple negatives occurred toward the end of our experience. One of the hostesses spoke very harshly to the bus boy right in front of our table. That should have been handled off the floor. And it took our otherwise very competent and friendly waitress about fifteen minutes to process our check. The dining room was also a little too warm. We wil go back and hope that some of the service links have been worked out.

This place is bad. I order Grouper and the fish was real fishy which tells me it wasn't Grouper. The shrimp taste like it was frozen. The Tables Are On Top Of Each other. The staff table was seen and bus tub was on the floor to be seen. This place is not worth the money.

Just decided to call a friend to go out to eat so we decided to try St Marys. It was a great choice. Really busy place so we ate at the bar. Great service, friendly staff and the food was great. Fried Oysters were probably the best I have ever had..will return often

Awsome experience!!!. My experience with the Mandarin location was great! The food and service was amazing! I brought my wife with me on the next visit and she was impresed as well. The prices are affordable for the average family. The location is easy to find from I-295. At the rate they are going, this place will become one of my favorites!

It's good!. We went on a Friday night and it was very busy. Being that it was a Friday night in Mandarin, we were prepared to wait, but we there was seating at the bar so off we went. We were very pleased to be waited on immediately by an awesome bartender who took care of us all night. We had the platter for two and enjoyed a heaping helping of food. The fried fish and hush puppies were amazing and the lima beans are out of this world. Drinks were reasonably priced and the atmosphere is good. We'll definitely be going back!

Just finishing my first meal here and everything has been amazing. The food, service, and atmosphere remind me of the very best of those local seafood restaurants I grew up with. I would talk about the amazing atmosphere, but I wouldn't want to take away from the food...which is fantastic. My family has found our seafood restaurant.

One Fine Dine!!!. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and owner. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer they hot crispy and delicious. For dinner we ordered the platter for 2. It was very plentiful (huge) hot well cooked. The atmosphere was elegant and comfortable at the same time. We will definitely make this our new seafood restaurant !! <br/>The server was excellent and very attentive.

This place is amazing it is the best seafood place I have ever been to! The servers are so nice! I am so happy they have a seafood place close to my house! This is my hang out place. The managers are super nice and friendly.The cakes are amazing! Everytime I go out to eat I am going to st marys seafood. I am telling all of my friends and family to come! I feel like I am at home when I come to this place. My favorite food is the carb legs. And they have amazing soup too.

The place looked nice and it was busy. We recieved our food and the only thing that was anything close to hot was the baked potato. The rice pilaf was so salty I couldn't eat it, the shrimp & pasta was soaked in Olive oil and the fish tasted like it came from a Gorton's box. I feel even worse for the table next to us who had been waiting over 2 hours for their food. Not going back.

Amazing Food!!!. Loved this place! The prices are great, the drinks were amazing, must try the pineapple upside shot! Boom Boom shrimp were delicious! Crab cakes super yummy and the fried corn on a cob is a must! Great customer service! Came all the way from Canada and I will definitely come back next time i'm in Jacksonville!

We Liked Everything. The food was very good and the portions were huge. My husband had the butterfly fried shrimp and stated he was very happy with the number of shrimp (he is a counter!) and the breading had a hint of seasoning which made them very tasty. The hush puppies were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and the lima beans were well-seasoned and soft but not mushy. The fries were your average crinkle cut fries, but all around he really enjoyed his meal. I had the buffalo chicken bacon ranch sandwich which was really good. The filet extended beyond the soft bun and it had a delicious mild buffalo sauce with real bacon and an ample amount of cheese. (Side note: This sandwich was my second choice because I tried to order the steak sandwich without onions but was unable to have it prepared that way). The coleslaw was delicious as it had a creamy dressing, and the cabbage was soft and in short strands. Our server was very friendly and attentive and all the staff seemed friendly. A very good experience.

As soon as you walk in, you are greeted like family. The decor is warm and inviting and very clean which is a must for me. The prices are great and the portions are exceptional. I tried the crab cakes which were out of this world and the oysters were fresh and delicious. The next time I'm in town, St Mary's will be the first and only stop for great dining. <br/>An extra thank you for the owner and his wife that were never too busy to welcome me and to make sure everything was fine. Awesome night. I could not wait to get home and tell everyone in our neighborhood about a new restaurant in our neighborhood St. Mary's Seafood. We had a great time. It was fun,friendly,attentive,great food,cold wine, good prices. I didn't want to leave. I cannot say enough good things about it. The owner Lena came by several times to thank us for coming so so humble. Really nice. We had 2 glasses of good cold wine, fried green tomatoes, boom boom shrimp for $ 24 dollars. This is a place to call home . Thank you for a fun evening. This will be a regular hang out for us and many many friends. Best Ever. The food is awesome!!!! I would highly recommend St Marys to anyone. Service is excellent and the staff is extremely attentive. Attention to detail is obvious from the moment you enter. You feel like family and are treated like royalty. Managers keep a very close eye on everything and are always open to suggestions. If you want to rat good food while learning about great customer service, come on in.

This place will make it!. Got to the restaurant early on a Friday night (5pm) and was seated promptly. By 5:30 the place was very busy. Server was quick and attentive. Food (platter for two) was great - plenty of food for four! Oysters on the half shell were also a hit. Mandarin needs a restaurant like this. My bet is they will be around for a while.

Nice Atmosphere!!!. Great food and awesome service!!! The mussels are very tasty and seafood Alfredo dish is really good... good size bar to enjoy a drink and watch the game. Bartenders are very friendly just like the rest of the staff... If you want a nice place to eat and unwind, St Marys Seafood is the place, nice addition to the Mandarin area.

Dude. Went there over the weekend my wife had the fried shrimp frozen then fried they was so mushy you couldn't eat them . I had broiled grouper that was raw and no flavor we will not come back .......Go to o steens

Huge portions, great atmosphere, and excellent staff. The basa fried fish sandwich could be eaten every day for a week. Love this restaurant.

2nd trip in less then a month. Girlfriend and I went again tonight food was just as good as last time. Service here again was amazing. Waitress named Audra was friendly funny and attentive. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the employees and staff members were so respectful. I am really picky of my seafood and by far this is one of the best places i've ever had seafood. I ordered blackened shrimp with a side of boom boom sauce and it was by far the best blackened shrimp I've ever had. I love how creative the decorations are throughout the building, and the lights of the bar. In the portions are so big. Needs improvement. Waitress was good. Our food took long. Waited an hour for food to only get cold food. Deviled crab was FROZEN meaning not fresh. Grilled shrimp we over cooked and then Cold. Cold and rubbery not a good thing. <br/>Beer is nice. But they need to be more organize in the kitchen. They should take off your bill instead of discount. <br/>As long as we waited, One round of free drinks would of been great. <br/>People that came in after us got there meal before us. <br/>Everyone else meal was good, but Captain D does too.
