Review Johnny T's Bistro & Bar - Jackson

There are two areas to this restaurant-we ate in the bar area and did not go upstairs. Therefore, I have no idea what the upstairs looks like or if the menu is the same. We got there at about 5:15 on a Friday night and had no trouble getting a table. There were two people behind the bar and one of them came to our table within 5 minutes with drink and food menus. He was back within a few minutes to take our drink order as well as our food order. The food probably took about 20 minutes but it may have been longer as I was really enjoying my amaretto sour 😉. I had the catfish and grits - a fried catfish filet over cheddar grits with a crawfish sauce. I’ve had shrimp and grits before and it’s one of my favorites, so this combination intrigued me. To say the least, I was not disappointed. Excellent dish!! My husband ordered the crab cakes - no filler lump crab cake with lemon butter sauce, served over petite mix green salad. I would have to say that this is the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. When they say no filler, that’s exactly what they mean. Delicious!! We had fudge cake for dessert and it was a three layer dark chocolate cake with a thick fudge icing. We ordered small plates and it was still generous portions. If you’re in Jackson, MS, just go: don’t wait!!

The food was very pricey but very good. The old fashioned I had was perfect. If you come here for dinner and drinks, just understand that it's going to be a little expensive. Yes, the service was a little slow, but I still recommend this place and I'll be back to visit.

Nice place staff very accommodating. Bar was a little grimmy. Sat at a table. Mens room only had a urinal. But food was excellent.

I love this place if I could give it a 100 stars I really would. I have been here a few times & this place haven't let me down yet. It has an wonderful mixture of music & the daiquiri are 🔥 the food is a little expensive but I promise you it is delicious. The owner is very understanding so if you have a complaint on anything he wouldn't mind trying 2 fix things for you.

Excellent food for the price - a wide variety on the menu. The staff was very friendly even though it took awhile to get our drinks (waiters have to mix drinks for their tables). They seem to be a tad understaffed but made up for it with strong drinks, delicious food, and good vibes. I would recommend anything with with their lobster cream sauce.

Heyyy the food already a hit!!! Now the atmosphere and music make you feel right at home. Myself & my husband really enjoyed ourselves.

Been here twice now when I brought the kids back for school. Food is excellent! I would have to agree with the many comments on the service. If you're in a rush or anxious and don't have to chill and just lay back for a little while, you might not enjoy the experience as much. Overall I would still recommend it highly!!

Well first we decided to eat here after a comedy show. This experience is questionable because we got there and no information on the options to go upstairs or stay on the lower level. By it being our first time visiting when there was no event goin on and the customer service was NOT good when we got upstairs and they added gratuity to our check. We had to stand at the bar and wait to place our order. We wanted to just enjoy some good music and eat but upstairs was not for us. The food was on point.

We hired Johnny T’s to cater our rehearsal dinner/meet & greet in December 2017, and this was one of the best decisions we could’ve ever made! Our wedding party and guests raved about the food for days (I’m writing this review three months later because a cousin JUST said he regrets leaving his plate of food from the rehearsal dinner/meet and greet lol). The staff dropped off the food on time and gave us plenty of utensils, napkins, plates, etc. They were so efficient that I didn’t even notice they’d came! The owner is very pleasant and will go above and beyond to accommodate you. I strongly recommend you hire Johnny T’s to cater your event. You’ll get a bang for your buck!

I was given a surprise birthday party there. And I must say that everything was wonderful,from the food to the drinks, and the area we had was more than enough...I would recommend this place for your event

I like Johnny T's just don't go looking for good service because you won't find it there. I went there for a paint party on the patio and I asked for a menu four times and it never came. That seems to be the norm around there but since it wasn't a busy evening and not crowded at all, I expected better service. Other than that it's good.

I had a great experience last night. Not only was the southwestern egg rolls and the cajun pasta delicious but they were prepared and brought out in a very timely manner. The server was very attentive and courteous.

I went to Johnny T's last evening celebrating my birthday. When we arrived the seating was horrible. But after 30 minutes the waiter didn't hesitate to find us better sitting. He was so attentive and professional. The food was delicious (hats off to the chefs). A young was going around passing out drinks for the ladies, I thought that was so appropriate for my occasion. She was so gracious. Service with a smile always counts. I will definitely visit again. Keep up the good work.

My first time going last night and I'm was amazed at the service and the food!! I have no complaints the drinks were good n well worth every penny � most definitely coming back!!!!

My husband and I were out celebrating his birthday. We had the greatest time. The atmosphere and food was awesome. The service impeccable. Would definitely recommend, but please get there early to get a table or seat. Lol!

Hanging out on a Wednesday wine down with family while enjoying shrimp and grits (so yummy) to the amazing fried green tomatoes and salmon balls. The drinks were good and so was the music. Truly a great evening.

Amazing!!!!! Each and everytime we visited here it was awesome!!! The food, the drinks, the patio and the live band were all awesome!!!! Our team " Team Train Insane " attends here at least once a month.. even the parking guy was kool.. yes! We will be back again very soon!! Team Train Insane!!
