Loved the food!. Food was great, didn't like that we had to pay a cover even though we were just eating. Service could've been better but the food made up for it. Wing sauce is amazing and the Fried green tomato blt was so gooooood!!
Nice bar, great music, decent service but overpriced food. The best thing I have tried so far is the mushroom burger- great option for vegetarians!
Not bad for an afternoon beer. Based on previous reviews that either love or hate the food but universally say it's expensive, we decided not to go to Underground 119 to eat, but we did stop in for a couple of late afternoon drinks.
There was no live music yet, so no cover. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of beers and a couple of mixed drinks. Draught beer was two-for-one so were quite reasonably priced. The mixed drinks were expensive, though the bartender used huge shots of liquor.
The interior is much fancier than I expected. In fact, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't more of a dive. The basement location and the narrow stairs had me believing I was going down into a dark, seedy juke joint. No complaints, I was just surprised at how nice it is.
Loved the crab cakes and crab quesadillas. Infused vodka was interesting.
Great date place!! $10 per person cover is higher than I'm use to, but the band was great...so it's cheaper than a concert ticket. Can't wait to go back and try the food.
By far my favorite food and atmosphere in Jackson. Andy Wilson has assembled an eclectic variety of dishes that far surpass any "want to be" trend setting restaurant. And, the consistent line up of top rate entertainment continues to draw me back til the wee hours.
911 has it all, and my hat's off to the entire staff. So, thanks to all of you for doing what you do to make that place possible.

119 is a great place. I can always count on it having great music, food and wine. It is my "go to" place when I have friends in town because there is something for everyone to love!
The food was great. The atmosphere was eclectic. Great band and good wine! I would definitely visit again!
Latest hot spot in Jackson!. My most favorite place in Jackson! Absolutely LOVE the music, food and drinks. I've been a regular patron of Underground 119 since it first opened a year ago, and have yet to be disappointed. The chef is constantly trying out new dishes to keep the menu fresh, and the weekly infused vodka is always worth trying. The live music gets the crowd up and dancing, and the servers and bartenders take great care of their guests.
Underground 119 is almost hidden, save a little sign and a flight of stairs off the west side of Presidents Street.
Pretty hip, cool spot underground with live music, strong drinks and delicious food. The crowd is great as well.
Underground 119 has a very welcoming and unique atmosphere. Everyone always seems to be in a good mood and happy to be there, employees and patrons included. The building fills up very quickly so it is not uncommon to have to stand for the duration of your visit. With the musical acts they bring in, however, you probably won't be doing much sitting anyway! They only have 2 unisex stalls as bathrooms also, so the line can grow quickly. Overall a very fun place to spend an evening, and somewhere I will definitely return.
Visited Underground 119 on a Saturday for dinner at about 7 pm. No waiting, plenty of empty tables. Food was among the best I've had in ages: appetizers: hummus with pita chips and deep fried portabella mushroom slices: A-double-plus! Main course was excellent blackened catfish and the best turnip greens I've ever had period. Dessert was pecan pie a la mode - very good, no complaints, just nothing memorable. Drinks were fine. Price for 5 was just over $200. Lots of folks came in to hear the band which began to play around 9 pm. Place went from empty to standing room only over about a half hour. Can't comment on the music - not my thing - but obviously a LOT of people were enjoying it. Wait staff was good, not perfect. Atmosphere - meh - it's a basement that's decorated like a basement, Go for the food. The chef is a real talent.
Great atmosphere, of the two times I have been, the music was fantastic once and awful the other time. I'm sure it's good more often than not! I recommend checking their site for what band/genre will be playing on the night you decide to go.
Underground 119 is a old school basement blues bar. It has decent food decent service and a eclectic atmosphere. Prices are decent also. It generally serves as a great place for local low level legends to come out and strut their stuff.
So awesome. We saw Southern Komfort Brass Band there and it was #1.
So glad they reopened! Every week they have great blues singers and musicians and great food. It's a wonderful place to go and relax downtown after a hard days work
Staff was super friendly and the live music was great. Good food and stiff drinks! They really helped make my birthday special. I will be back again.
