Check this place out! We are new to the area and have struggled finding a worthy Mexican food restaurant. We have tried numerous from Pine grove to Jackson. Save your money and gut and just go to El Mira Mar. This place is owned by a mother/daughter duo. We were lucky enough to meet the mother as she was our server. She went above and beyond, was friendly, quick, and offered great conversation. I ordered the chimichanga and OMG that thing was huge. The photo is half of what was left after I gorged myself. I ordered the chili Colorado filled one. Location: right of Ridge and Hwy 49 near Lowes. Super easy and convenient. Cleanliness: this has been something lacking in every single Mexican food restaurant in Amador County. Not one has been even remotely clean! I always order a chimichanga and I can tell at first bite if it was fried in dirty oil. I'll be damned if El Mira mar didnt meet my mark. I sighed a deep breath of relief as I took my first bite. THANKYOU SO MUCH EL MIRA MAR for acting with integrity in your business and keeping it clean. From the oil to the dishware and floors, I am impressed and you have set the standard in the county and I wish every Mexican Restaurant would follow your lead. It's the first chimi I have had in the county that was fried in clean oil. I was happy with the overall cost of our meal, it was worth it and she even ended it with a kiss! A Hershey kiss that is. We will be back and next time we will bring out kids with us to check the place out.

Large portions! Food and service was amazing! They even made my wife’s favorite desert even though it wasn’t on the menu! Truly amazing!!!!!

They treat you like family! I recently hosted a Wedding Rehearsal dinner with 23 guests. This restaurant got EVERY order exactly correct! That's an amazing accomplishment. EVERYONE left very HAPPY! That's another amazing accomplishment. In short, this place was exceptionally friendly and the food was great. I guarantee that if I ever find myself in that part of the world again, and I need to find a good restaurant, I will choose from a short list of exactly ONE place: El Mira Mar! They treated me and my family just like we were THEIR family. HIGHLY recommended.
